15 year old Need Help getting stronger

Hi people, I am new here, this is also my first post and I need some advice. I am young, 15 year old 16 in march. Iv been lifting since 14, my dad bought me a weight machine for my b-day. Iv been doin pretty good, but I need help getting stronger, and making my arms look better. Right now I know i can bench 140, Iv done it before but im not very comfortable doing it. At home I do 85 10 reps for 10 sets. At the begining I could only bench the bar...15 pounds. and now I can do 140. i do much more like culs and stuff, I used to work out my legs, but Iv gotten too lazy.I weighted 140 5-5 at 14, now i am 180....and 5-7.. I Need to be stronger, I bought some power bar protein plus from Cosco. Everytime I finish lifting, About 1 and a half hours, I eat a bar....290 cal..5 g fat...38 g carb...and 24 grams of protein. Does this help me at all or making me waste my money. Iv been thinking about buying Optimun Nutrition 100% wheat powder. Will it make me stronger if i drink it before i lift? and will it make my muscle mass bigger? I dont expect like for it to help me bench 200 anytime, but im just saying would it help me. I only eat two meals a day, I dont want to get fat. I think my protien intake is about...80-90 grams a day if i work out but if I dont i get about 60. I think i work out hard, I do it everyday every week. But now I havent gotten stronger, should i try this product or take Creatine, i dont think thats safe but what ever it takes. Can you tell me any other products that will make my muscles bigger and stronger..Thank you alot if you reply to this.

Whoa......

But the Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey and take it after u work out.

Ten sets of bench press? too much. Try 3 or less really intense sets.

Work out your legs, don't be lazy. It will help the rest of your body, including your arms, get bigger.

Eat 6 smaller meals a day. If you eat only 2 meals a day..... well let's just say that bad.

Some more knowledgable people will hopefully provide u with some links to some posts that will give u some more info. Try using the search feature.

Welcome WeakBoy. Gotta bump this in agreement with DudeXCH's advice to you. Try some of this suggestions. Workout your whole body, this way everything gets stronger. Do squats, rows, deadlifts, presses to your bench routine. Up your weight after a couple of warmup sets and do 4 to 6 reps per set. Eat 6 times each day. Become more well rounded in your strenght pursuit. Good luck!

Ok, what you want to do to get stronger is lift heavy weights. Being new to lifting, you need to take a while to get used to lifting. Take a while to learn the movements. Use a weight you are comfortable with, and learn how to bench press, push press, military press, deadlift, squat, and SLDL. Those are some basic movements that you should know. Use a light light weight, and just start doing some reps with it, don't concern yourself with sets and reps just yet you are in a learning stage. It would be a good idea to do 5 reps, take a break, and go at it agian. When you have done that for 1 or 2 weeks, then you can start lifting for real. Here is a sample split for you:

Monday
Bench Press 6x3
Push Press 6x3
Military Press 6x4

Wednesday
Squat 6x4
Deadlift 6x4
SLDL 5x5

And you are using a weight that challenges you, but is not out of control. You are training yourself to use heavier weights. Getting stronger is a function of the Central Nervous System, plus muscles. When you are comfortable with all those lifts, then start learning the olympic lifts. They are complicated, so that is why ou should learn them last. Don't try to start them at once! use a broomstick to get the form down. Start from the hang, which is with your knees slightly bent, bar resting against your thighs. Start with the power clean and power snatch, both from the hang. Later you can start doing them from the floor, but you stand a chance of hurting yourself if you aren't using good technique. You can get videos off the internet to watch other people. Here is your split now (this is about 1 1/2 to 2 months into your lifting)

Monday
Hanging power clean 4x3
Bench Press 4x3
Push Press 4x3
Deadlift 4x4

Wednesday
Hanging power snatch 4x3
Squat 4x4
SLDL 4x4

Friday
Bench Press 4x3
Push Press 4x3
Deadlift 4x4

Don't use a weight you can't handle, you don't need to be maxing yet. Concentrate on moving the weight fast, this will increase your fast twitch muscle fibers, which are the explosive, strength muscles.

If you have any questions just ask. Remember don't use more than you can safely handle on the olympic lifts!

Whoa, time to slam on the brakes.

I'm not going to get into a generic discussion of whether steroids or their equivelants are good or bad but 15 is pretty young to be even considering anything like that and it's really, really, really, really, really dangerous to take ANYTHING without knowing exactly what it is and exactly what it's going to do to your body.

Yea, just seeing the word steroid sent a chill up my body. Stick with whey protein.

Haha, steroids for a kid whos never lifted weights, what a joke! They are ONLY for people who have maxed out their natural gains bro! They aren't a magic pill that will make you bench 400 lbs! Smart training and eating a ton will get you strong, don't listen to your friend! He probably doesn't even know what he is taking, thats why he called them "grade A".

Do what I told you and you will be fine.

eric, any oly lift from the hang means you start by picking up the weight, then standing, legs straight, back bent (not rounded, bend at the waist), then you bend your legs, bringing the bar in contact with your thighs, where it would be if you had just executed the first pull, then go from there.

PS 235 bench at 16 isn't impressive unless we know his weight.

You shouldn't be working out everyday. And you dont need to take steriods to get to 235 lbs... And when you take steriods, You dont only need steriods, you also have to have post cycle drugs so you dont get, gyno (man boobs), deca dick (limp noodle), Oral Steriods will kill your liver, You'll get crazy Acne, A small penis.. and I'm guessing there orals because I dont think you would inject... plus there illegal.

You need to get a workout plan put together and stick to it.
