2 day vs 4 day split

I am currently doing a 4 day split that looks like this

Chest/Shoulders/Abs = Day 1

Back/Traps/ Triceps = Day 2

Quads/Calves/Hams/Biceps = Day 3

Repeat day 1 on day 4

Well considering how busy I have been during the holidays I have missing some days but to make up for it I have been doubling up on the days I do go ( which is 2 days a week ) and looks a little like this

Day 1 = Chest/shoulders/abs & back/traps/triceps ( day 1 and day 2 double up )
Day 2 = Quads/calves/hams/biceps & Chest/shoulders/abs ( day 3 and day 1 double up )

My question involves this...Would if I like the 2 day split? Is this a bad split and can it be a better split if I put 3-4 days of rest in between workouts? At this time it would be nice to be in the gym for only 2 days a week instead of 4. What is everyones opinion of doubling up and making the 4 day into a 2 day????
Advice please!!!

However you feel comfortable. The problem with working too many muscle groups on one day is lack of focus and intensity on the latter groups. Know what I mean?

Its much easier to maintain focus and intensity if you are training just 1 or 2 groups a night.

Ive not heard that. Besides, its going to vary. YOu have to find what works for YOU the best.

But definitely, working a lot of muscle groups in 1 day is going to make your focus and intensity suffer unless you are extremely dedicated.

I think breaking them up into more days will give you alot more intensity per day since the workouts will be shorter and more focused on a fewer muscle groups.

You can overcome this by rotating the two groups every other routine.

EXAMPLE:
Day 1 = Chest/shoulders/abs & back/traps/triceps
Day 2 = Quads/calves/hams/biceps & Chest/shoulders/abs

NEXT TIME
Day 1 = back/traps/triceps & Chest/shoulders/abs
Day 2 = Chest/shoulders/abs & Quads/calves/hams/biceps

Here you are doing chest/shoulders/abs both days. I personally would find a two day split that didn't make me repeat one muscle group in the same week. Or a full body routine twice per week.

Thanks all!
I only happened to do it because I had to double up on workouts because I was missing days. It is not so bad but it did take a while in the gym. I have legs tonight and it may be harder to double up with them because I usually can not even walk after legs. I will do those tonight after my other.
