I do 2 sets of 6-8 for each lift. My very first workout, I did 3 sets of each lift and found it too exhausting.

i dunno... it maight work for you guys, but I kinda agree with what the one guy here says on another article, "if you can work the same body part twice a week, than your not working hard enough? not trying to knock you guys, I just wanna work 2-3 parts a day some combo moves some iso moves and I wanna be sore as heck the next day, I feel if im not sore then im not working hard enough, and I need to increase wieght, sometimes when I cant increase wieght I increase reps by 1-2. and I know for now im making gains in strength, and size, (certain areas anyways) but I will definately consider your ideas when I come to a halt.

so in other words, keep giving me ideas, because I do like to hear them, but I also came to realization probably 1 out of every 10 people work this kind of routine. so not so many work 5 days a week like I do.
actually my one buddy, started out doing mon.chest-back-traps...tues.shoulders-bis-tris...wed.legs-abs
thur.chest-back-traps...fri.shoulders-bis-tris he said him and 2 other guys did this, and thats when he made the biggest gains, he was increasing his wieght by 5-10 lbs on every movement once a week. and I believe him, the guy is like 5'8 190 lbs. can do dips with 2 -45's on his waist......insane! thats even more work than what I could handle

You want to work one body part and have nothing left in it for a week? Give max ot a shot. It will make you grow if you really want to give it your all while you are in the gym. If you don't truly give it your all...you won't get anything from it.

It's one body part/workout. 5 workouts/week. 2 days off mandatory.

If you just want to get bigger though - look into HST. That's what it's all about...getting bigger.
