You are quite lean now. The remaining 2 of the six pack are made up from how clean your diet is. Being 13 is suspect that you could drop some junk food and sodas and probably get there.

BTW: Doing heaps of situps will not make those abs more defined just make them stronger.

I raised two boys who ad lean physiques like yours when they were teens. My best advice would be to follow a full body workout program that targets all the major muscle groups over a period of a week. Do that plus make sure that you include regular cardiovascular training (aerobic activities). As your body matures you will see and develop all your abs.

You are just entering the best time of your life to take up a regular fitness habit. You'll see a lot of change over the next 5 years.

Like Lady C suggests, keep the junk food and sodas in your diet to a minimum if they are even a part of it now. Try to eat good food on a regular basis and don't skip meals.

Are you involved in any sports with school or in a league?

You should try and consolidate your discussions into one thread. The people who replied to your other one may not have read the info about you in this one.

It's good that you are involved in other sports training. You are going to have to set your goals and prioroties in line.

Do you have access to a gym and possibly a trainer and or coach through your other sports?

If you've got access to a gym then you develop a full body workout if the equipment is there. Is there a weight stack with pulleys and high cable ?

If so you can do the rope cable crunches Todd was referring to.

What's at the gym and how often can you get to it?

I'm calling BS on this.

Muscles will not slow you down. Your mum has your best interests at heart but is incorrect. If you train with full body workouts as already suggested, keep up your running training, do the cable rope crunches as suggested, keep your diet clean and eat enough to support all your efforts you will continue to improve in performance and physique.

BTW, how many 13 year olds have abs like you are showing? Maybe 3 or 4 in the world. Look around you, the rest of them are pudgy.

Work your whole body, train specifically for your sports, and not only will your sport performance improve...so will the way your body looks. Then you'll get all the girls and make the pudgy ones hate you.

the abdominals muscles is to stabilise the pelvis and the lower back region to protect the lower back from injury.
you do not need to work ure abs everyday,if ure a gym person your already working ure abs.exercises like squarts, deadlift, lunges, push ups, chin up's and dips..all you need to do is learn how to activate your core.you can do this by pulling ure belly button toward your spine while breathing out and then maintaning this abdominal position while controlled breathing.if you ask me il say do a full body workout program that targets all the major muscle groups and also include regular cardiovascular training.and remember to activate your core...set up's are a waste of time

if you have any other questions please feel free to ask me?
as i am 2 weeks from getting my personal certificate
