Abdominal Crunch or Sit-Ups?

Hello.
I would like some more definition of my abs. Whenever I'm at the gym I do the abs, but I'm not sure about the best way to do them. Which and why do you perform the one you do? Do you do anything besides situps or the crunch?

(Abdominal Crunch)

i personally get a good burn doing crunches on the big rubber ball. i like doing those and the boxer ab training where you lay in crunch position with your abs flexed and rotate from side to side and have someone throw/bounce a 10 lbs medicine ball on your stomach until you give up. also hanging leg raises.

i disagree with what you said loveinthis. running and cardio are about the best way to get a 6 pack. crunches and situps will only make the abs themselves bigger, losing overall bodyfat is the only way to make them show up, running and cardio.

Ok, thanks for the info. I play soccer two-three times a week so I guess I get my cardio there.

cardio+diet

ab work is to strengthen them to prevent injuries on movements like deadlifts, not to define them

im sick of people being so superficial when it comes to weight training.. personally I do crunches, up it up with twist crunches or twist situps whatever you decide and throw a weight on you to make it even harder

Plus situps give me back pain (anyone else suffer from this?)
