abs on yoga ball?

Is it easier to do crunches on the yoga ball?? How effective is using these type of balls when trainning abs? I'm getting pretty tired of doing sit ups and leg raises all the time... I need some new excercises.. easy excercises tho.. I have a very bad back

I have never used a yoga ball. I would imagine that they are harder to perform but easier on the spine. Have you tried hanging hip curls? I hang from a pull-up bar and pull my legs up until my knees touch my nose. These are a killer.

I do abs on a swiss ball sometimes. I actually really like it, it seems to work both the lower back and the abs better than just doing them on the floor. You can put a plate on your chest or hold dumb bells in your hands. I wouldn't say they are necessarily "easier." But why would you want to do something easier anyways, that probably just means it's not as good.

I started off doing oblique crunches on the ball, but i really couldn't get the hang of it, and my back started aching, so I just stick to the nice, safe, floor now
