I really doubt that it is the creatine causing the acne seeing how your body makes creatine on its own. By taking it twice you probably wouldn't have made a whole lot of difference in the creatine levels your body already was at.

Creatine does make you stronger which enables you to do some pretty hard lifting which may result in extra sweating which can cause acne but after two days I really doubt that is the problem.

creatine causing acne? i doubt it. acne develops when excessive amounts of sebum (oil that lubricates the hair and skin) block the pore. The hair follicle then is infected with bacteria and either whiteheads, blackheads, pimples or cysts are formed. acne can also be a side effect of some drugs, including barbiturates, seizure medication, steroids and other hormone effecting drugs.
since creatine is NONE of the above, unless you are RUBBING the creatine INTO your chest, hoping it will grow, i would look elsewhere for the cause for your "mysterious chest acne".

good luck.

ive been on creatine a month now, noticed more acne, but i think maybe its because i switched routines and sweat a helluva lot more.....and then go to class for a few hours before shower...lol

I got that as well a couple years back. After 1 week of creatine loading, I found pimples (sick!!) on my chest. Not just the small ones, but the big *ss ones. After a few weeks and an arm injury, I never touched it again. Call me superstitious. And ya know what? I've never gotten them again near my chest area.

Yes, yes, i'm well versed on why the body gets acne. My scientific explanation?! I have no idea. But I know a couple friends who are convinced and got acne flareups too (out of nowhere) from using creatine.

...and I'm sure you've done plenty of clinical studies on the effects of creatine to back that opinion up...

Interesting that you state this unequivocally, with no scientific evidence or even postulated cause/effect relationship - and then have a sig like that.

Instead of getting into a pissing match about evidence, try using rubbing alcohol on those little cotton pads that girls clean there faces with. Put in on your chest as soon as you get home from the gym. If your not going to do that, jump in the shower and scrub. A spray bottle with rubbing alcohol will work for the hard to reach places like your back.

Of the many, many benefits of water, one of the big ones is your skin. Water helps your skin in many ways, and keeping it clear is one of them. Creatine attracts this water that would be used for this very thing into your muscles. The result is some breakouts. To cure them, I would suggest drinking extra water than you normally would.

I don't think it is directly the creatine causing this, but rather the water being pulled to your muscles, instead of being used for other things.

My Husband and I have both used creatine (in various forms, concentrations and styles), and neither of us have experienced any breakouts.

I've experienced them, - sometimes quite significantly, - with other supplements, but they were supplements that were affecting my hormones (like 5-andro-diol and such). It was one of those "good with the bad" things when it came to gains, but having a price to pay.

So along the lines of creatine affecting breakouts (if not providing a direct causal relationship, merely a contributory one), then would not all caffeinated beverages and "metabolic boosters" and any of the diuretic-type products out there also be causing people to break out in acne in a similar fashion since they, too, are pulling water from the body (except that they cause the body to eliminate it, not merely redirect it)....?

That is true. But, I have heard that salt and caffeine have been linked to possibly causing breakouts, or making them worse. I don't know if there is scientific data to support that or not.

different strokes for different folks.I took some effervescent creatine and my face back and arms broke out after a week of using creatine. My face felt like sand paper. I stopped using and they gradually went away
