Is it bad to bench every other day?

i don't think they're beginners, though. for a newbie to bench every other day, he's gonna be hurting bad or working so far below his level that he's wasting his time; likely he'll be ignoring other body parts (such as legs) as well.
i think it'd be better if he were to adopt a comprehensive three-day split (which would allow lots of recovery time) to start with until he's got the hang of everything and THEN start doing what the advanced builders do.

I agree with Kyle, that even at a begginners level one can train that often, since I'm not a specialist at the bench press I'm in really no authority other than what I've learned with my training.
I'm certain that a begginner can train that often in lifts in what I do, it's all in the mindset, the mindset must be train for skill not for an awsome workout or pump, now most begginners will say f-that I want to get pumped, but when you walk into a gym, what do see? the begginners trying to push themselves with the heaviest weight they can handle, and are always asking why is my bench stuck?
look at the Bulgarians, it's my believef that these guys train their lifters at a youthful age, and they don't train for looks, but skill, they are conditioned early to nail heavy single after heavy single daily, yet every lifter in the " quick lifts" in the mid-200's and under have amasing builds, in my opinion better back devolpment then bodybuilders.
I train in a similar way, I wish I knew then what I know now,one thing with the "quick lifts" the lifters don't do much with the negitives, as in powerlifting the negitives are part of a bench and squat.
I think the mindset of the person plays a big factor, and one who is not under a coach will not have this mindset.
Kyle, maybe you can chime in here, and give some facts or thoughts for us.

I wouldn't really say he is a beginner because on a previous post he claims to have been working out for a year and a half (it appears specifically on chest). Certainly, he needs to learn a bit more (don't we all?) but I think it is safe to assume by this time he has a fairly good benching base.

The first routine I was ever on was a 3 day full body workout and it turned out fine. You just do less sets for each bodypart during every workout.

If he manages his volume, he can do it w/o fear of overtraining as part of a full-body split, as Cort suggests. An example:
M: Flat BB 3x
W: Incline DB 3x
F: Decline BB 3x

sounds to me like you're falling into the "more is better, most is best" trap.
the problem is that growth does not occur in the gym, but in the rest period between.
no rest = no growth and a condition called overtraining.

You shouldn't work the same group every single day, no. Muscles aren't growing when you work them, they are growing in the time you give them to recover. If you continually damage them day after day without allowing any recovery time, you're just going to slow yourself down in the long run.
If you are doing a full body workout you usually only do 2-3 sets per bodypart, which allows faster recovery (for me 1-2 days is usually acceptable) than if you were going after the 6-10+ heavy sets that are common in an average 3-4 day split.

Whats this I hear about the Max OT work out? Do I lift a differnt muscle group every day? Like chest one day, then biceeps/tris, then shoulders, then quads and calfs then an abb day?

You can train a lift (or body part) three times per week so long as you don't over do it. Max OT recommends training to failure, which is NOT the way to train if you are going to do it three times per week. This is what Kyle was referring to about training "smart".
Working the same body parts three times per week can get you to your goals.....same as can with Max OT. You have to be the one who determines what works best for your physiology, temperment, goals, etc.
