3 pages back from the lab.
Hitting 40 at year end so doing the 21 point inspection.
My liver did not get flagged which explains how grampa was able to drink heavy into his high 70's, I know there are some miles on mine but the liver did not get flagged.
What did get flagged is BUN. Normal BUN = 7-23 mg / dL but my number was 27.
BUN - 27 ( high and flagged ) normal is 7-23 mg / dL
Creatinine - 1.4 ( high end of normal ) normal is .8 - 1.4
Whats worse is when BUN is accompanied by a high creatinine then you may have kidney damage.
Glucose was low so thats good for the liver again.
Now a
high protein diet is hard on the kidneys which is why we are told to only eat 1.4 gram per pound of body weight. But the following can give you high BUN and high creatinine levels:
1) Dehydration
2)
High protein diet
3) Kidney damage
Does anybody know if the high protein diet and perhaps a little dehydrated can cause levels like this? Does anybody know if this is more than tad high?
Are these levels normal for us weightlifters, made mostly of muscle and chowing protein all day?
Definately following up with the Doctor next week.
According to this its normal
