Okay....I've kinda..NOT got in shape for hockey this season...no one on our team has really..but oh well....our coach bag skates the hell out of us.....what I'm asking is for some tips on how to gain strength fast or get more endurance......I'm doing lateral crossovers,benchpresses,jumping jacks,situps,pushups and twisting or whatever its called where you turn ur abdominals fromside to side..i want to get my strength up fast

im in the same boat as you...i got hockey comin up and i just decided to only do my leg routine ever other week..because i know my legs will be exhausted from practice and stuff.
As far as I know you can't build strength real fast, thats just not the way it works, unless you're so outa shape that you can't do anything, than you can make huge gains. As far as the endurance goes I would run up hill sprints, I'm not sure what the skating equivalent of that would be though.
Problem solved, uphill skating. JUST KIDDING, actually in that case I guess either find a flat non icy place to do sprint work, or do what ever the sprinting equivalent in an ice rink.
If I could find a icy enough hill...i'd be skating everyday on that thing....i wish the whole world was a giant skating rink:P....but now that we have the skating **** all done....what could get my slapshot,wrist shot and backhand stronger...and also...what could I do for bodychecking
