How long does it usualy take to...?

...Increase your 1 REP MAX by 10 pounds ?

Bench Press, Deadlift and Squat...

I am not asking for some scientific answer,

but FROM YOUR EXPERIENCE how long did it take you ???

if youre into that type of thing...

I REALLY NEED SOME INFO...since im going to try it on myself soon...but just wanted to know... what did you experience?

2) another interestin question

i had nothing to do and read something interesting that my friend gave me...

The average person will gain around 1 to 2 pounds of muscle per month with extremely hard working out...more is way too hard, unless you have great genetics...less is what usualy happens...as everyone knows- this comes with fat....but as far as muscle goes- about 1 to 2 pounds of muscle a month...thats working out like crazy.....damn that slow production of muscle...(also that only occurs in bulking, not cutting)

what do you guys think...?

It depends on too many things. For instance, you can increase your max very quickly when you first start doing an exercise, but it gradually slows down. Or you could be really amped that day of lifting (psycologically primed).

1 month best case scenario just starting out.
6 months worst case breaking a plateau.

Oooo I'm sure some people have been stuck for longer than 6 months lol. But yeah it really depends on many things, but I'd think the main one is finding what works for you to keep on progressing routine-wise.

If you are just getting started I think that a 10 lbs increase in bench will take 1-2 months...for deadlift and squat maybe 1 month....If you plateaued I agree with skyman...6 months or so...

You just need to make sure your training is consistent and you work hard each and every time you head to the gym...this will allow you to keep climbing...Once you plateau then switch things up a bid and try some new exercises...DIet is also very important...you won't increase your lifts much when on a reduced calorie diet...If you are bulking up it will be easier to grow stronger...

Good luck to ya....

I don't agree with that. Since August I've put on about 6lbs per month, and I don't feel any real increase in fat. Then again, I was scrawny to begin with, so it might be true for, say, endomorphs.

Genetics is a HUGE part of it...6 lbs per month is fast and most likely about 50-60% is muscle....but it is possible to gain muscle that fast....You can see it all around....a buddy of mine has gained a total of 10 lbs in one year of lifting, and I can gain up to 30 lbs in one year....now I know its not all muscle...but it shows how differently people gain and lose weight....Just this New Year tipped in at 220 lbs, and I bet I'll be around 190 lbs in May/June....then back up to 210-220 again next winter...some people it is easy, others it is tough...I just know someday it will catch up with me....

Possibly, for a very short time period, not sustainable though. Else we'd have people walking around having gained 120 to 240 lbs of muscle in ten years. Not gonna happen.
