How to deal with Thanksgiving

I'm on a strict diet and haven't broken it yet since beginning of October, I have half a cheat day a week. Now with Thanksgiving I could just make that my cheat day, but then there is left overs and knowing the people there it will be shoved down my throats, so just wondering if 2-3 whole days of off the diet will really screw me up?

...got it?

Relax bro

In a word, no. In many words, as long as you work harder next week, and the week after that, it won't hurt you.

It matters more that you don't give up after Thanksgiving

I know I won't give up, but this is just a roadblock for me, I wasn't that bad yesterday, but today with the leftovers I probably will be. Saturday I will be normal

You might. You just have to decide, is pigging out worth more to you than keeping a little extra weight off. Me, I pig out when I wanna pig out.

Turkey is good for you (for the most part). Stuffing is not. It's pretty easy to pig out at Thanksgiving and not go entirely off the diet. The sweet potato and green bean dishes aren't generally going to be as bad as the stuffing.

Don't sweat the whole diet thing. I tried the whole hardcore strict diet stuff and it was horrible! You've got to treat yourself every now and then, just make sure you keep doing all the good stuff too.

i had to go to 2 thanksgivings, one at my bro's and his wife's house and the other at my uncles(live right next to each other

i split my meals into 4 separate meals, 1 at noon and 1 at 2:00 then one at 4 and 1 at 6. also treated myself to a piece of apple and pumpkin pie at 2 of the meals. i had everything i needed and was even good to eat a snack at 8:00

cant pass up 1 day, it wont kill you. like others said just work it off and make sure you get right back on ur diet

Sometimes it's just easier to keep in the routine then break it (in the long run). Obviously it's easy to eat a lot on thanksgiving, but maybe the next week you'll go out to eat and say, hey I didn't gain any weight by eating on thanksgiving, it won't hurt to eat a little bit more than I should today, and so on and so forth. ]

Lucky for me I'm on a bulking diet!

My diet went to hell this thanksgiving pretty much...but it isn't so much that I ate the wrong stuff on thanksgiving either, just had a hellish shift at 4:30 am-4:30 pm at KB toys today. Basically the only break I had was 3-4 minutes for a piece of pizza and a soda. That isn't my norm though, so not somethin' to worry about...had fun at least

Really though I wouldn't worry. Just keep general thoughts in your head and don't overeat. All I had on Thanksgiving was some turkey and mashed potatoes and some broccoli caserol (sp?). Mostly turkey though

Eat the white meat part of the turkey, or do what i do. Live in Canada and worry about it around Halloween anyhow. I'm sure one weekend of eating a little extra won't kill you. Just burn it off over the next 3-5 days using HIT.
