I dont get it: WHY DOESNT EVERYONE HST?

OK! You guys...Hi...
This question is more than just a question for me...
It will basicly be my back bone to everything since Im set to start working out seriously...but I have a problem...

I mean...my diet is set perfect...my cardio is set perfect...my calculations are awsome...but this one question bothers me...

I CANT PICK BETWEEN 2 ROUTINES...Because I dont understand this concept..

I am straight BODYBUILDING...(ofcourse stuff like strength will always have to take place)

So!

My 3 Favorite ways to workout are:

1. Full body once a week...BASIC...
Chest Tri / Back Bi / Legs Shoulders
Chest Back / Arms Shoulders / Legs

2. Full body once a week...a lil DIFFERENT...
or just workout every part a day...with more concentration...
Arms / Chest/ Back Shoulders/ Legs

3. HST! Where you workout your fullbody 3 times a week...
*ofcourse applying the instructions...

So im stuck...Ive tried all of them...and dont really know which to do for the next 2 months...

1. is nice but its only full body ONCE a week...and thats not always better...
2. is nice because it will save me so much time...and Ill concentrate more...
3. is known to be the best or one of the best for bodybuilding...with better results...but also involves more work...to say....

Q 1= WILL WORKING OUT FULLBODY ONCE A WEEK GIVE LESS RESULTS THAN THREE TIMES?

Q 2= THOSE WHO ARE INTERESTED IN BODYBUILDING, WHY ARE YOU NOT ON HST SINCE IT GIVES BETTER RESULTS?

Q 3= I PERSONALY THINK IT DOES GIVE BETTER RESULTS, BUT THAT MIGHT BE BECAUSE I DID HST MORE THAN THOSE REGULAR ROUTINES...HOW IS IT NOT BETTER WHEN YOU WORKOUT MORE WITH A PROCEDURE THAT WILL NOT OVERTRAIN YOU AND ALSO GAIN MORE...?

For me personaly, i wanna do HST badly but at the same time I wanna do the others aswell...

What you think of my situation...

I think you should get yourself into the gym and lift some weights (since everything else is *perfect*)

Okay, Question Mark-

You're gonna do HST for a while, then you'll change to something else, then you'll change to something else, etc....

Go ahead, do it for a while, track your results, analyze them, make a change, go back to the gym, work out on the changed routine for a while, track your results, analyze them, make a change, go to the gym and work out......

There are many roads to take in order to end up at "bigger".

Question 1: Not necissarily. Try both, log your results, analyze, etc. Then and only then will you understand what works for YOU and your schedule/lifestyle.

Question 2: HST does not really give better results, per se, than any other routine. It's just "muscle stimulation and fiber breakdown". There are many routines which accomplish this. The growth aspect is a result of dietary intake, sleep & recovery, and your personal hormonal profile.

Question 3: More a a rhetorical question. See the second half of my response to Q#2.

"For me personaly, i wanna do HST badly but at the same time I wanna do the others aswell..."

You seem to be set on HST but open to other things as well. Just go do it. That was the point of my first post. Just do it.

ok well now thats cool! hehe

with HST sometimes i worry i might overtrain even if im very careful...
but with the other routines ill feel more comfortable and save wayyyy more time...

so i think ill be going for WORKOUT FULL BODY ONCE a week
RATHER THAN 2 or 3

hmmm still dunno tho hahaahah

THX TUNA!

This is the problem right here. As Tuna elluded to, you need to pick one and stick with it for a while. You can't be indecisive about it or you'll be flip-flopping all the time and never get the results you want. You will never know if one works better than the other if you don't give it some time. If then it doesn't work, don't go back to it and pick something new, but don't prematurely quit thinking something else may toot your horn better. That won't get you to where you wanna be.

I agree with everything Tuna and Lift has said. Let me just say that you can't do the same workout forever because your body will adapt to it and quit growing. I know this because it just hit me like a ton of bricks why I haven't seen any gains in months now. I just got too complacent doing the same routine over again. The point is your workout will need to vary anyway so your body will not adapt to the same exercises and quit growing. So do one for one month and record your results (results being gains and how it fits into your time schedule), then do number two for a month, record your results, then number three for a month and record your results. At the end of the three months, set your results side by side by side and see what worked best for you. But then again, you can keep a three month rotation going so your body doesn't get complacent and quit growing.
Since I haven't had any gains in quite some time and I know I need to change my workout, what I'm doing now that it's winter, is working lower body on Tuesdays, pushing muscles on Thursdays, and pulling muscles on Saturdays. On Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, I am doing a workout I found in, I think Men's Fitness, that is designed to broaden my shoulders, work abs, and give me that V look. This way, I'm still getting one full body workout each week (just taking 3 days to do it) then specializing with the shoulders and abs 3 days a week. And I'll probably do some set changes along the way, probably inverse sets, to keep my body guessing as to what will come next. No need to focus on just one set routine. Rotate your routines and you will get bigger and better gains in my opinion.

Not to throw fuel on the fire, but...

If you're going to do full body (no sets to failure), definitely do it at least 2 and preferably 3 times per week. I don't think one weekly workout will do much for anyone, frankly.

Ah, hell, I'll risk getting flamed: once-a-week workouts are for lazy people.

The WORST thing you can do is mentally masturb@te over the routine choices and end up doing nothing. That is what Tuna and Lift are saying. Even if you just lift by instinct and follow no set routine, that's better than sitting around, isn't it?

ok i dont understand why people workout their full body only once a week...

you have sooo much time within one week...to recover and to do more with lifting...

"3 a week workouts are for people with no lives... " you say

....well i think people who workout their full body only once a week are stupid haha...

so id rather not have a life than be stupid...

^ how imature was that statement...

but ya anyways, not being childish stuff...

for those who are really busy- fullbody workout once a week split in 2 or 3 or even 4 is cool....because they are busy...

but i am a student who is able to workout his full body 3 times a week, not hitting failure...
why wouldnt i do that???

so anyways i think ill be doing that and screw the full body once a week crap...

thx anyways....
