I have long arms... want them BIG

Ok, who doesn't right?

I've been working my forearms, triceps and biceps pretty hard and it seems to be working, but I'm wondering if I'm missing anything. That probably sounds stupid since that's about all you can do... but are there any special exercises someone with long arms can do to really help bulk them up?

My triceps seem to build pretty nicely, however my biceps just don't get that bulge I'm looking for. I do hammer curls and preacher curls for my biceps and dips, tricep pushdowns and behind the head raises for my triceps.

Guessing I'm just stuck with long arm syndrome and will have to work twice as long to have the look.

PS, I'm 6'2 so not the ultimate bodybuilder frame to begin with... but I know it's possible!

Correct me if I'm wrong, please! :

You can't get big by just working the arms. You have to work the whole body. Chest and back exercises add tremedously to your overall mass. And don't forget the legs, there is nothing worse looking than a buff guy until he shows up in his swim trunks with chicken legs.

Thank you...

I should clarify that those aren't the only excercises I do... I was just listing the ones I do mainly for my arms.

I also do flys, bench press (incline, flat and decline), various stomach movements, pull ups, lat pull downs, some leg movements and shoulder exercises as well.

I started out skinny and I too first noticed my triceps getting bigger to a greater extent than my biceps. This is natural as triceps are twice the size of biceps. I would suggest that you do alternating dumbbell curls and barbell curls, though.

What's the advantage to alternating barbell/dumbell curls? Isn't it the same movement?

BB and DB curls are better than preacher curls in that you can place more overload on the biceps. As for the distinctions, DB curls use a fuller range of motion and employ a rotational movement, and BB curls - I can't explain, but you'll see for yourself.

I think the triceps grow faster than any other large muscle group. That could just be a myth though.

Thanks for all the replies...

I really hope this is the LAST time I 'start over'... I can't help but think if I had never quit what I'd look like now.

Can't dwell on the past though, right!

switch it up. barbell and dumbells hit your biceps a little bit differently. to me, i can curl more weight with a barbell, but i can get some serious ROM with dumbells, especially doing DB curls on an incline bench.
