I Love It!

I love it when you see people in the gym working out but like maybe using 10lb weights and do about 50 reps, and when they come up to me ( a women) and see me trashing, like me benching 130 lbs and damn near killing myself. I love it when they come up and say wow you must really want to be big huh and when I say "naaa" thier response is " well your going to get big if you keep doing that" then they go about telling me how to lower my carbs and lift light but a lot of reps, and then to pyramid and all this CRAP!!!!!!!!!. Well its not crap but not my style of lifting. I kinda feel sad that almost everyone had such a bad interpetation of carbs. As soon as I tell them that I consume about 200 grams a day they begin to tell me how that is way too much! and just eat mainly protein.

Carbs are the fuel for high intensity activity. Cut 'em, and you'll reduce the effectiveness of your workouts—resulting in lower than optimal muscle gains. Keep on carbbing!

Hi Amkey-

I agree with Cursor on this one. You NEED carbs in your system to function properly as an ATHLETE...

Seems that low-carb diets might help to shed a few pounds NOW but what about long-term...? If you are an ATHLETE you will need your carbs... guaranteed!!!

You can cut thru the fat over time on a "typical" bodybuilder's diet that includes carbs. The only problem is what to do with all that energy.....

Oh yeah......LIFT HEAVIER WEIGHTS FOR REPS!!!!

Go get 'em girl!!!

I know low-carb diets can keep off the weight IF you make it a life change. I have tried Atkins and it's just too restrictive for me. Low-carb stuff if expensive and while you can get lc stuff like bread and such you're spending way more than you would normally.

Anyway, not my point. My point is that lc can work for some people, but like you said tuna fish, it's NOT for athletes. I was doing Atkins when I started weightlifting and I had NO energy. Well, Fudo is doing the CKD diet, he could tell ya lol. LC for life is for sendentary people that don't want to do exercise to keep the weight off.
