I want to shape-up!
I´m so tired of my flabby body. I used to be quite fit when I was younger, but during the last few years I haven´t been working out much. (I´m 22 now) I weigh about 58(+)kg, but I believe my body fat% is quite high. I went through an ed phase a while back, so I lost a lot of muscle there... and the weight I´ve gained since is fat. My legs are quite thin and so is my upper body - but the middle is very flabby... I´m so tired of my lovehandles!
I would love to tone up and look great by, say, next summer. But I don´t know where to start. I look at the curser´s progess pics - and that was a great inspiration. It really is possible to shape up! but I think I need a precise exercise and nutrition plan, otherwise I would have no clue. Is there anyone here who could help me out, or would I have to contact a nutritionist or gym?
My plan so far is to go for an hour walk before breakfast and also taking up running. But I know to get a truly athletic body, I´ll have to lift weights as well. Right? When it comes to my diet I eat a lot of brown rice and fish... but I´m a complete chocoholic!
I would really appreciate it if someone could give me some ideas! Thanks

The walking and running is a good start. Make sure that you don't end up adopting more that you can really do. Going full bore, then giving up, won't do you any good at all. Building up gradually will help maintain enthusiasm.
Success in a fitness program comes in finding a set of exercises and a style of eating that balance well with how you are willing to live. Start with something reasonable, then modify it as you gain experience and find your own limits: Creating a plan: workout & nutrition What is your height and gender?

Indeed. This includes nutrition as well. A while back I jumped right into the nutritional stuff...eating EXACTLY like bodybuilders do and stuff. I about killed myself trying it and gave up really quick, just because i went into waaay too fast
I also got sick twice(I never get sick) when I started the routines and eating habits up so fast....so I don't know what happened...but wutever it was, my body didnt like it

I got my friend to come with me in the morning to lift weights. Is twice a week ok? Another three days a week I´ll go for a run/walk in the morning.
For me, if I want to make changes, I have to go in for it 100%. Otherwise it won´t happen!
This is what I dream to achieve:

Personally she has very little muscle mass not what a healthy ideal person should have. She probably exists on one bird size meal a day and does alot aerobics. OR she has great genetics.
Print it out and put it in a spot that will remind you of why you are doing this. It is a great target but hopefully you will do it healthier.

Yeah, I would like some muscle definition as well... I´m obsessed with abs... At the moment I have lovehandles - and I feel bloated all the time. Not a pretty sight

That is just a ab routine. You should be fine doing that once per week. Abs are made in the kitchen more than in the gym. It also takes LOTS of dedication to keep those abs once you get them.
What are you doing for the rest of the body?

At the moment I´m just running in the morning and doing ab exercises + push ups when I get home. I have a high fat%, and so that´s why I´m running a lot. I will start going to the gym, but I have to wait for my friend to sign up.

You know if you are doing cardio like crazy and adding ab work you could very well be on your way to low bodyfat and ab definition. Like Lady C implied though - it does not mean you are heathy or more fit. You may end up like the runway model - you may not. She has quite a long torso to begin with and rather nice curvy hips. That is probably genetic.
I think low fat/highfibre/ high protein gives you that look too. If you are starting with a high bodyfat percentage, be patient with your weight loss. It may also be an indication of a genetic predisposition if you struggle to lose it. Look at others in your family and extended family to see what is realistic.

My mother is really slim, and so was my father when he was younger. I have always been really slim too, but gained some weight a few years ago when I moved to another country. When I lost that weight, the love handles remained. I´m pear shaped, so I need to work on my shoulders and arms as well!
