Incline Vs. Flat

I heard that incline benching is the best for bodybuilding and flat is the best for strength. Some people went as far as saying that flat bench is for feeding your strength and your ego but not for bodybuilding. My goal is only to look bigger and better. Right now on my chest days im working the flat bench as the main exercise. and then incline and decline as secondary. Should I focus my main exercise on incline or stick with what im doing?

this is just personal preference, but I would only do 2types of pressing movement- incline, decline, or flat. I find, atleast myself, if I do 3 i tend to burn out and can't give it my all for the last one.

Anywasy, to answer your question, i wouldn't neglect flat and just focus on incline. rather, include both and then rotate. i.e., start off with incline one day, then flat another.

I would step back, and take a look in the mirror and determine which part of your chest is lagging. The majority of lifters have great middle and lower chests and more often than not, it is the upper chest that can always use some catching up. If this is the case with you as well, then make inclines a priority (do them first in your workout while you are fresh), then move on to your other movements. This will allow you to get the most out of putting some more needed emphasis on the lacking part of the muscle.

Unless you're working on perfecting those pectorals for a show, either will work just fine for you. Do what you like to do and do it well. If you feel more comfortable doing flats, then so be it. Train it hard.

Dumbells

Personally, i like to start out with incline, about 4 sets. Go to Decline, 4sets, and hit the flat bench with some heavy dumbells. Just my 2c.
