Is it normal for Tricep Kickbacks to be so much harder than Tricep Press?

Today was my first day doing the split routine; I did my chest, biceps, triceps, and forearms. I can do 50lb Tricep Presses pretty easily, so I was in for quite a rude awakening when I was struggling hard to do 15lb Tricep Kickbacks.

For the people here who do TKs, is this normal? Is the weight used usually much less than what is used for the TP? Or is it because this is my first time doing it maybe? Or am I just a pathetic puny excuse for a human being?
