The reason my parents won't let me lift because i still get major headaches from the last concussion i suffered about 5 weeks ago (the 3rd 1 in 3 months) but the program would have to be easy on my CNS.

i am. i have 3 years under my belt. my parent think my headaches are from lifting but after i lift and don't get dizzy or anything i feel pretty good. so they won't let me lift at all. i can do a few bodyweight exercises behind their back in my room.

It is a good program, teenpumper. Out of curiosity, what did you get a concussion from? Did your P's take you out of the sport that caused them? Three concussions are a LOT and the health effects of that shouldn't be taken lightly.

well i got 2 in football. when i got the first 1 they did the card test on me and i only missed 1 game. after that the trainer said i was thinking clearly and was well enough to play. well he was wrong. i might have been thinking clearly but my brain hadn't recovered yet. So that next game i played i took the same kind of hit and got another 1. well now i was out for the rest of the season (there was only like 2 games left). then i waited nearly 2 months while in the meantime seeing the doctor. she said i'd be fine for wrestling and i had to lay off physical activity to all symptoms were gone. well all symptoms were gone and i went on with my daily business of lifting and then wrestling started. 2 weeks into it i got crossed faced like 4 times really hard (i think it was illegal because it seemed to me he wound up really far but i can't remeber jack from that night) now i am out for the season and am going out of my 5th week and still having syptoms. now they are doing this type of research with a computer test to tell the trainer when you can come back instead of t6he card test. it called Impact or something. i think cause i am into web design i'm gonna make a concussion awerness site and inform people of the hell i've went through and what i'm currently going through. let's just say you get this many in a 3 month time frame you're gonna be pretty messed up.

It sounds like you could be suffering from post concussion syndrome. I hope you have already seen a neuroligist...if not that should be the first thing you do, don't excercise until you get clearance from one. It sucks I know but it can be very serious if you work out with that condition and 3 concussions in a short time span can very well cause it.

Concussions are caused by jarring to the brain, such as from a fall (from as little as two feet) or sudden stop (whiplash). Certainly, talk to your physician about the safety of weightlifting or exercise in general. So long as you stay away from any type of ballistic movements (plyometrics, olympic lifts, etc) you should be fine. My nephew almost died from a serious head injury (praise and thanks to the Lord Jesus that he is still with us) and weightlifting is one of the sports his IS allowed to participate in.

Yeah how many people get them and don't even know about it. When I was in school it was no big deal. In football get hit get dizzy walk it off and get back in there! I glad to see they care for the kids better now. Teen take it slow and get better!

i saw this phd that's heading the concussion study. he said as long as i don't get symptoms while i'm lifting. if i do i would stop. i feel really good after i lift and now stopping lifting i feel like crap. that's why i'm gonna do those exercises behind my parents back. when i do lift the heads are less frequent and not as painful. not i'm in living hell.

The program is a good workout. All programs are good. It is not the exercises that count but the effort you put into practice that gives results. You can get good results on very short (abbreviated) programs as you put good effort in them.
eg I personally hate workouts that consists of thousand different exercises and the end is never in sight. I noticed I get better results, stay better motivating and have more energy if I perfrom short workouts.
A few month back for example I did a bwe style workout based on pavel's PTP program. Was a 5 days a week workout that lasted only 15-20 minutes and I got great results by that. Only equipment used was the strand and the ppu to make the pushups tougher and thus keeping the reps low.
