lean legs please!!!!

Sorry - this is a little long

I am new here, only posted 2, my question is what do you guys recommend for leaning my legs. Just to give a quick bio and what I do for exercise - im very petite, I weigh about 104, I am very trim on top, very small waist, and carry all my weight from my hips on down, jay-lo butt (however, very firm, lol, lol) Anyways.... I am a workout-alocholic - I do cardio 5x's a week, and I try to double up on my cardio 2 times a week (I'll go back at night and do a spinning class or something) and I lift weights 3x's a week working on various body parts, abs every other day. I only however work on my legs once a week, one year when I did really concentrate on my legs and worked them 2 or more times a week they really bulked up, and that is the last thing I want considering I carry all my weight from hips on down.

For a leg workout i usually do a lot of exercises on a fitball because you feel a great burn without the without the use of weights, I also do leg extensions, walking lunges, etc.

Do you think it could be diet??? I eat healthy however, I know I don't get much protien.

So any advice would be appreciated, sorry this is so long.

I have seen much longer posts don't worry :-)

if you want to lose 'FAT' that is on your legs they only way you can do this is through diet.. you can not spot reduce fat.. that is you can't work your legs and have the fat that is on your legs disappear... you must expend more calories then you take in to burn fat of course...

sounds like you do a ton of cardio...how long are these sessions of yours?

remember muscle really is your friend... it helps burn off fat naturally while you are doing nothing... you can be sitting on your couch and be burning away tones of calories... since you said your upper body is so trim why not try working your upper body a bit... I find lots of girls are discouraged to work their upper bodies...

trust me I do work my upper body, my arms/sholders are extremly built. I go to the gym every day during my lunch break and do 30-40 min. of cardio, high intensity the whole time, and 2 a week I go back at night for extra cardio, either aerobics or spinning. I try to take a break on Saturday and Sunday's, however, if the weather is nice I will go for a run.

Do you think cutting down on my carbs would help??? Its sooo hard cuz Im not a meat person AT ALL. If I do eat it, its just chicken or white pork and once in a while a steak.

104 and a nice butt....I don't see the problem.

That's just where you carry fat. Women are much more leptin sensitive than men, so your body just doesn't want you under your current fat level. Leptin is made by your fat cells. It is what tells your brain if you are going to die (or not be able to have children).

You just need to have a crazy diet to get under your current level.

If you care that much, we'd be happy to help you with the diet.

thanks guys - I work extremly hard to stay pyhsically fit, I am extremly critical of myself. But who isn't, thats what keeps us real, and keep striving to be better. Ok, so here is basically what my diet consists of is the following:

Breakfast: light wheat toast or oatmeal

Lunch: yogurt, or n.f. cottage cheese w/ nf saltine crackers (no salt), or a salad w/plain tuna,

Snack: Veggies, fruit, granola

Supper: I have pasta at least 1 a week (I can never give up pasta), otherwise I have chicken breast, veggie, sweet potatoe, jujust simple stuff.

And of course Im not perfect so I will treat myself once in a while.

I have a huge issue with no carbs - and I won't/can't cut it out completely, I am not a egg, steak, meat person AT ALL!!

By the way this has nothing to do with me trying to lean out, but do you guys ever think you are soooo addicted to working out and always striving to look your best???????

Everyone that knows me says im "obssesed" with working out.

Carbs are what store fat. You can't get around that.

I'd add a morning snack, just to make sure you metabolism stays high. PM snack would be ok as well.

Your only weaknesses are the wheat foods. Stick with slow cooked oatmeal, not toast. Fruit, not granola. Fruit or veggies, not crackers.

You also have about zero fat. Fat is great for slowing digestion, and your body won't be in fat burning mode, if you don't eat any. Olive oil on your salad, or with dinner. Couple of nuts. Every meal, should have some (un)fat.

You look like you eat pretty balanced each meal, so that's good. Keep that up.

You might just keep track of everything for a week to see if you are eating the calories you think you are. An ice cream here, some Indian there, and you are a few thousand above where you thought you were.

Oh yeah, and I nearly never follow my own advice. I'm at my natural lean weight, and it's just too much effort to go under it. Of course, my advice got me lean, so hey.....
