Question

Looking for some advice.

I'm about 5'9" and 150 Ibs. I'm not exactly a big guy, but lately I've been thinking about getting into some weight training. I have two questions.

One: Discipline has always been a problem with me. The only way I'd keep my workouts frequent is if I purchase a weight machine system. There's no way in hell I'd drive down to the gym. I'm not looking to spend anymore than 500 dollars. I've been looking around sites, but do you guys have any recommendations? Brands, types, etc?

Two: What about supplements? Keep in mind, I'm only a beginner. Several people have told me if I want to bulk up rather quickly I should take creatin. ???

Any information would be very helpful, especially about a weight system. Thanks!

here ya go man

do to your lack of $, I would suggest dicks sporting goods. Normally I would send you to fitness depot, but there $. So I would go to dicks.. The system to buy is Weider Pro 425 Bench.
The bench is a flat/inline/decline leg ext leg curl bench. Your able to squats on the opposite side of the bench.
www.dickssportinggoods.com Its $179 you cant beat the price.

Next go buy a 300 pound olympic barbell set
www.fitnessfactory.com is a good place like $100 or if you think your going to bet really hardcore go 500 pounds.

Your next purchase is the olympic dumbell set one again
www.fitnessfactory.com the set for two dumbells is $64

this is all you need. You can do tons of free weight exercises with this equipment.

oh ya, one more option to go with all this, is a lat pulldown machine with low pulley as well...

good luck dude

creatine

If you want to get big you should first buy a good whey protien product, I personally would sugest Nitro-tech or Desighner Whey.
Without at least 1 gram of protien per pound of bodymass, then you will never get big.You should remeber that protien is one of the few things proven and endorsed by the FDA to help with gaining muscles.
But as far as creatine goes ,it is a good product, which ocurrs in natural foods like meat and fish.which means it can never be banned from NCAA or scholastic sports.I have had good gains with creatine myself, but i believe alot of the weight gains are do to the high amount of water retention.Creatine will help you gain muscle but more importently is to have a great diet and enough rest.
I also believe that the majority of supplements are made for people who are desprate for "gains".Alot of people have no clue exactly what their supplements really do(if anything) so becareful
before u spend your paycheck down at GNC.

IF you want to grow that badly go pick up some Deca-Durabolin or some Sustenon-instead of wasting your money on miracle supplements.

Another option for home equipment is Sam's Club. They have a nice Rack with high and low pulley mechanism, bench and 300 pound olympic weights. All for less than $400. What twest said about whey protein is on the money. You can't make good gains without supplementing with protein. The amount of food you would need to eat to meet the protein requirements of a bodybuilder would tax your digetive system.
