new to the concept of bulking and cutting

i dont even know where to put this question , but i chose here. what is the most common time frame for bulking and cutting. like how many weeks or months of bulk, then how many weeks or months of cutting etc. i am not talking about those who train for shows or competition, but just speaking generally. i am new to the whole concept , in the past i just weight trained and did cardio and ate healthy , but i always stayed at constant weight and size. now i am looking to get bigger, then cut fat, get bigger, cut fat etc and try to continually grow. i came off 15 week cut, and am about to end a 15 week bulk. is that a good time frame?? also, does bulking and cutting really work?? it would seem i would always go back to where i started , same size and not really get bigger , i would just appear bigger cuz i was heavier and the end of a bulking phase. and finally, do any of you have any good article links to info on bulking and cutting? i cant find any, i really dont know what to search or look under on the article pages

thank you

15 weeks is way too long for a bulking cycle and a cutting cycle. Studies have shown that the first 2 weeks of bulking you will gain the most muscle, and then 2 weeks and after your body gets adapted to the bulking and you gain more fat. And cutting for 15 weeks your body might lose whatever muscle you gained and possibly more. You should bulk for 2 weeks, then cut for 2 weeks, then repeat that over and over so that you keep tricking your body into results. I use to do the bulking and cutting thing and it worked well for me. I have a good article about the ABCDE diet that is basically about bulking for 2 weeks then cutting for 2 weeks. I'm on my new comp so let me try to find the article then I will post it in another entry.

I read the article about ABCDE. It is quite interesting... I am planning to try it soon. How long have you been on this dieting system? Did you get good results? Because we always knew that shock changes in diet cause muscle loss.
