I'd have to agree with that.

And also Veggie with this post

There is no logic in wanting to be tall, still it feels good. People say things like, "Your cousin is 6'3", you are not very tall." It makes me feel small. I cant tell them i have more brains, even though it is true. People always judge you by your size. they dont care about profound things, you know. So i agree there's nothing extraordinary in being tall, just that it makes one look bigger and better, and people won't make comparisons and hurt your feelings.
Height can play alot in life determining whether you want to use it to your advantage, whether you are smarter because you are shorter? thats nonsense.... Becuase i'm 6ft''2' doesn't mean i should automatically not be smarter than my shorter counterparts.

I play b'ball often, and i'm 6ft''2' and i'd love if i was 6ft 5? But it wont happen, but i wouldnt mind it either if i was taller.

About what does height have to do???

Think about this.. it is a thought that i always associate with height relationships (no offence to anybody).

When you are in a courtroom, notice the "JUDGE" is always sitting above everybody else?(looking down at everyone), i.e. They have the power, they are in control. Height can pose intimidating factors, but doesnt mean their smarter if their taller, but it also doesnt mean your smarter becuase your shorter.

There are benefits to being tall, and there are benefits to being short. Whichever suits you.

Well hmm this would explain me as well perhaps. No one in my family has been as tall or is as tall as me.. 6'1 and still growing. IM only 16 right now. But I don't get it no one close not even my grandparents were this tall no one from my moms or dads side. But my mom says her Grandpa.. my grand granpa was aroun 6'8.. could I possibly inheriting his genes?

Hey I know how you feel. Tall people have the same problem at least me..I don't want to grow taller. Cause then it would look awkward me being say 6'4 and my gf being 5'6.. I just don't like that.. I think 6'1` is a perfect height at least for the girl im intrested in now.. (<-- possibly the reason Im working out..lol I got a concert coming up in the summer with her )

PLus im sure int he near future you'll be able to add more bone marrow or something and increase your height..if you really wanted to. People would go through impossible feats just to be "perfect" .. that will never happen. If you think your ugly or something don't worry about it.. cause gravity has an affect on all of us when we're older. Same if your tall..

Dude, get over the height issue. Mike Tison is only like 5'9" or 5'10". You think anyone is going to call him a sissy boy or girly man for it? Not more than once. I'm 6'0" and that also can be a pain. Try bumping your head on every ceiling fan or door header in the county. In my work, I go into people's homes every day - people used to be shorter than they are now - old houses were built to fit the people who were building them. It isn't any fun having to watch your head everywhere you go. Try trying to drive a volvo sometime when you are 6' tall and have long thighs - not enough room to drive comfortably - toyotas are even worse.

As has been amply stated already, there is nothing we can really do about our height but live with it and adapt to it.

I'm just imagining what it'd be like for someone at 7' to walk around in those places if you're hitting your head all the time already at 6'.

Not sure you've been in the new Camry, it is pretty big.

Some low ceilings in the older places around here. I finally quit hitting my head walking out of the bathroom, my house is over 80 years old. WTH, it's paid for. Couldn't have built new for the cost of the purchase and refurbish.

The new camry? Nope haven't been in one, I just remember trying to drive my 6'4" uncle's camry back in '89 or '90, whenever it was. My knees were way up too close to my body. He was actually glad when it got stolen.

Again, some of us are tall, some short, the world isn't made for the tall or the short - just the average 5'4 - 5'10 person. Two inches taller or shorter, nothing fits right. We just have to live with it. I'm glad I'm only 6'. being TALL like most of my family would be very unpleasant. You guys and gals in the range where the world fits you - be happy.

"yeah," she said from the other end of the spectrum, the one that has her swinging her legs freely when sitting on the average public transportation, "be happy!"

ME ME ME ME *raises hand*
I'd like to be taller!!
I'm 5.10; reached that height when I was 13. I used to be giant among my kid friends. Liked that. Then I stopped completely and they caught up or overtook me. Man what a fall

Some points:
Earlier generarions DID use to be shorter. Each generation grows something like a couple of inches. EXCEPT for USA where this hasnt happened in the past 30-40 years. The reason that has been propositioned is nutrition - as nutrition/health care gets better babies/children grow better and taller. KC -this is one time I'm disagreeing with u.
Asians/other ethnicities "catch" up to white folks in a couple of generations in the US.
And avg height does depend on region. The avg height for males in 5.11-6.00 in some european countries(a couple of inches more than in US - where people havent increased in height over the last generation). I posted a thread about this - too lazy to look it up.

Height DOES have a role in earning power. Taller people on average earn more. Not becuase they are better at stuff, but because they are percieved as better. Just like beautiful people.

Once the bones have fused, they have to be broken to make u taller. Those programs may advice u on improving posture, wearing clothes/shoes to make u appear taller, but nothing else. If u wanna hassle them, maybe have a lawsuit against them, then u can join the program. There was this guy who lodged a lawsuit against some penis enlargment site, wonder what happened to that suit??

being taller may make ppl more prone to hire you for better-paying jobs or be more likely to pay you more (that's true), but if you're hired at 5'10" and suddenly become 6'2", you're not going to get a rise in pay and you're not likely to do your job any better (unless the job involved getting stuff off a high shelf a lot).

okay, i did some digging and found this comprehensive article on height. turns out that medieval men were 5'6" on average compared to today's 5'9", while american colonists averaged 5'7-1/2" - not that much different from today.

Hey, somebody forgot to tell the county commissioners who I work for about that point. That does sound fair. Anybody 5'11" or more should make more money. Ok, not fair. I actually hadn't heard about size making a difference before (height so we don't get off on the wrong topic here).

But, I've noticed that people do act differently to me now that I'm not 300lb anymore. The docs and nurses are automatically more respectful in the various hospitals we transport to. Like the 300lb guy was some kind of dumbass or something. Then when I increased from 175 at 15% BF to 186 at 10%, it got even better - especially if they are female. Darn it too old and too married to take advantage of the situation.

Anyway, what you say about the taller people does make sense

What a crock that it works like that. Of course, I'm prejudiced - my wife is only 4'11".
