Don't waste your money on most aminos because most of them are just digested and used in protein synthesis. Instead just eat a well balanced diet with enough complete protiens in it. I only use two GABA and glutamine. GABA is taken 30 minutes preworkout and 30 minutes before bed. Glutamine is added to a protein shake immediately postworkout.

Each one has a different way it needs to be taken so that it does not go to waste so be sure to read the directions on the packaging and follow them if you do decide to use them.

I presume that is what he is probably looking for them for but correct they are a waste economically just take something like whey.

Actually, BCAA's taken prior to a workout can have a muscle sparing effect. As few as 6 grams are usually recommended.

So there are SOME that actually work? That's good to know. I've found that many of them just don't. What do you do, add them to a protein shake or make them into powder, mix with water, and take on an empty stomach so they get absorbed quickly instead of being hijacked by the digestive system?

Pretty sure it iwas giiven to the subjects in solution.

But like Maxgain said, whey is cheaper -- and it has a fairly high ratio of BCAA's.

Yeah bcaa can be especially benificila for cutting but there sole or additional effects versus a whey drink I have not seen nor would be too confident in.
In fact all we need to take is the 6 essential aas after training and the effects are no different than all 20.
