Protecting muscle!

Morning All!

I recently bought a bike to get to and from work, figuring itl be a great way to lose the fat i built up over summer (company i worked for went bust). Problem is its about ~10km up and down hills and im pretty physically active while im at work too. End result is when i get home im too tired to be working out! Is there any ways i can help reduce/stop my body using my hard fought muscle for energy? Its taken years of graft to get how i am now and i dont want to rewind the clock.

Consider doing a lifting routine in the AM before work (every other day or so). Does time allow?

I suppose there might be, would require me waking up an hour or so earlier thou Maybe just the one set for each of the major muscle groups, nothing too strenuous (sp?), thats all thats needed isnt it, just something to remind ur body those muscles are being used and arnt up for grabs

yes, these are both good options, if it were me, I wouldn't do the early workout as I wake up at 4:30am just to get to work on time, I'd do just a couple of heavy working sets, witch I could do no matter what I went through earlier in the day (just me though) but yeah, I'd get my cardio from riding the bike and I'd push myself alittle more on an "off work" day, but stick to a very short but heavy session, as I train heavy!!!

Just wanted to point out for humor, you ain't got to be smart to be strong. That's all. :
