PURE NARROW BASE turning into a WIDE BACK/WIDTH overall...no joke,serious about the Q

ok ive been trying to explain to people by what i mean by a NARROW SKINNY PERSON...
this has nothing to do with me, but it has to do with my major curiosity...

ok as everyone must know this actor from ROad Trip or The New Guy...

DJ Qualls.......i just used him as an example because he is by far the most skinniest and most NARROW SHOULDERED person ive ever seen...

here are some pics i found....

http://us.imdb.com/gallery/granitz/0...y=Qualls,%20DJ

http://us.imdb.com/gallery/ss/021512...y=Qualls,%20DJ

ok you can obviously see how skinny he is and how narrow his shoulders are.....long skinny neck with zero build....makes his head look big too.....

so by point here......is not do diss him obviously......but to ask a person question....

because he has a crappy base and extremely narrow width to his back and shoulders...

IF HE WERE TO START DOING EVERYTHING HE CAN= COULD HE BE MAD BUFFED AND LOOK LIKE A BODYBUILDER...

yes its stupid question but i just dont see how this guy (with clothes on) can look wide !!!!!
even after working on his BACK SHOULDERS TRAPS etc...

i mean if he gains FAT- ya hell look bulkier but that wont widen him much...its the muscles that will and I dont see muscles widening him toooooo much over his current base....
i mean if he ate like a horse....and lifted like a bull....
got him delts, lats, upper back and traps worked on harddddd for about 1-2 or even 3-5 years.....do you think hell look like the next BUFFED GUY....who ISNT NARROW LIKE HIM......

i am very very interested.....i mean hes in his 20s and pretty much grew into himself by now...i understand if he was 15
but ya his base is now determined and i just dont see a base like this LOOKING WIDE!

WIDE IS THE WORD here...

can he become something like this you think? even if hes wasnt given the base...

look at the second pic....i just got it off BB.com....just as an example...

http://forum.bodybuilding.com/attach...hmentid=144789

The skinny dude is 6'2 by the way....

So ya this is no joke, i really really wanna know...and by the way, the pics are a bad example but thats something im really curious about....
so i even bothered to look for them....

overall

CAN A SKINNY BASE LIKE THAT (NARROW SKELETON)
BECOME SOMETHING LIKE THAT (WIDEN TO THAT EXTENT)

after 1-5 years....i know a lot isnt determined but answer the best you can....

please....

edit: make sure you know that im not asking if a person can get wider, thats obvious....but with a base like his, which is as narrow as you can get= can that be done...

and do you know any bodybuilders that did so?

Yes it is possible. Lots of food, lots of heavy lifting!

I work with a asian guy that is maybe 5'-6" and when he got out of high school weighed maybe 125 lbs. He started lifting for maybe 2 hours or more a day and eating 10,000 calories. That is what I said, 10,000 calories per day. He would eat snickers bars half way through his workout. This was not a healthy gain of mass. He now weighs about 180 now. He got up to 210 but his doctor told him to reduce because it was causing too much stress on his spine. He is REALLY strong. He can bench the whole weight stack and someone standing on the stack (don't know how much weight that is). I am sure you get my point.

My point is he changed his size massively. His older brother is still 5'-7" and 130 lbs. By the way I would not consider him cut. I would bet his bodyfat is over 20%. And he NEVER works his legs. It is all upper body mass and strength.

so now, when you see him "in clothes", does he look wide? or much wider than before?
I mean I can see him gain strength and all...but packing on so much muscle that it widens you by that much and changes your whole appearance- is pretty cool...
to tell you the truth tho, i didnt really understand your answer...its basicly telling me that he got fatter and stronger...
My point is he changed his size massively you say......well thats all i wanted to know....did his back and shoulders width change BIG TIME? overall upper back and upper body

its very easy to gain fat and look bigger because of it, but you dont want that cuz you can always lose that fat and get back to that skinny narrow, no base, skeleton dude....

thanks for your reply tho

anyone else?

You missed my point. I have no idea of his measurements but I will guestimate.
chest = 50
waist = 35
biceps = >16

I was just saying you can do it by not the most healthy methods and then cut. Or just do it slower and stay leaner.

Its possible. If you are asking if the skinny person would look "wide" if he had similar amounts of muscle, yes. It involves good developement in the lats and shoulders, as well as a slim waist.

But the caveat is that in a fully-grown individual the bone structure cannot and will not change (ie: clavicular width)......

look guys, that can be genetic, but i'm betting if he added some mass to his shoulders, and really started doing heavy dumbell flies, there is no reason why he shoudlnt look massive and buff, Buff does not mean you have to have the widest upperbody, but i believe it is attainable, but could also be genetic.
Oh and like those Pro Bodybuilders that take Steroids, they can make Miracles (not that i want to ever go down that road).

Yeah, I agree that you can defenitely add to the "width" look. Regardless of genetics, if you manage to build some decent lats and shoulders, its going to look like you have decent lats and shoulders.
