question

hi, i have a question

is it possible to gain muscle mass and lose body fat at the same time? i heard its possible but its really hard. im thinking of alternating days to work out and to do cardio. what im saying is that one day i eat a lot for bulking, and the next day, i only eat my minimal needings. would this work?

Yes it's possible to lose body fat and gain muscle at the same time but no, your plan isn't likely to get you there.

Adding muscle doesn't necessarily require massive amounts of food. In fact, it rarely requires the several thousand calories per day that are routinely recommended. The average beginner can see very respectable muscle gains on relatively modest amounts of calories.

Losing fat requires that you take in fewer calories than you burn.

That means your best shot at adding muscle while losing fat is combining a comprehensive lifting routine that hits all major muscle groups with heavy, compound exercises with modest calorie deficits.

Eating a ton of food on one day, then starving yourself the next, isn't a method that will get you where you want to go. Slight variations in your nutritional intake (in accordance with your activity differential) is the way to go.
