Ive always heard squating realease a hormone that increases size and strength in the whole body, is this true?

Is it a hormone or just that fact that a good heavy squat is a
compound movement
that draws on the strength and coordination of several muscle groups?

I've never heard of any hormone, but it is an awesome compound movement when done correctly.
