Started new routine...is this normal?

Ok I started my new routine this week. I went from:

Monday - Shoulders/Legs
Wednesday - Chest/Triceps
Friday - Biceps/Back

TO:

Monday - Back/Legs
Wednesday - Chest/Shoulders
Friday - Triceps/Biceps

I changed mainly because I wanted to focus on my arms more and also to add a bit of variety. Anyway, Monday went fine....however today (Wednesday)...it was a great shock to the system! I did my chest workout as normal....then when it came to shoulders.....I found it very hard to do! I had to drop down a few levels to get a good enough workout. I dont mind doing this as long as eventually I will build up again. I just wana know is this normal when starting a new routine? Will my body adapt to the new routine? Also, my triceps felt a bit tired after this workout...should I maybe wait until Saturday to do my Bicep/Tricep workout so as not to overwork my Triceps?? I am determined to stick at this routine for a while....I just wana know if I will adapt to it eventually and get those really good workouts....?

Well you haven't posted your exact routine but I imagine for chest you do at least some form of bench press. Bench Press can be very taxing on your shoulders, especially incline press. This may be why you were able to do less weight on teh shoulder exercises after doing chest.

This is very similar to what I'm doing now....

Shoulders and chest are tough to do the same day and actually one of the body part's may suffer because of it....the last one you choose to work out on that day will suffer...cause it will be already exhausted.

What I'd suggest and I'm far from an expert .....I personally find my chest and triceps and back and shoulders the same day really work out well cause they are using much of the same muscle....and they compliment each other.....

Legs on monday and don't day any upper body on Monday to give it extra chance to recover.

With Legs you cover quads, hams and calfs anyway so can put in a good full day routine to hit all those muscles.

Monday - Legs
Wednesday - Chest/Triceps/Biceps
(Friday or Saturday) - Back/Shoulders

Saturday would be better but you may not have an option.

Legs-Chest-Back are the three main muscle groups (Majors) that require a lot of energy....I believe they should be doen on differen;t days, however soem people will put chest and back on the same day to follow the opposite muscle theory...(I can't remember the technical name)

shoulders I find are a little harder to work then triceps and biceps but the above splits it up pretty evenly...on a 3 day routine unless you rather go 4.

The whole reason I didnt wanna do triceps on my chest day is because after doing chest, I find it really hard to get a good tricep workout because they are tired from chest and I really wanna focus on my triceps more...

Well then mayb you might want to try that opposite muscle routine..

Monday - Legs
Wednesday - Chest/Back
(Friday or Saturday) - Shoulders/Triceps/Biceps

That's a pretty mentally heavy Wednesday but do-able...I seen alot of people do this program but for me I like doing triceps and chest same day cause my tri's geta hard pump from my chest workout and I usually add just one or two excercises to cover tris because of this....

Depending how long you been working out for...when your starting your main focus should be Back/Legs/Chest before your arms...working out back and chest do your arms anyway and you will see growth and improvement....bulding a stronger chest with presses brings out stronger triceps...automatically.
