Hey all, I usually try to switch up my routine every 4 weeks or so. Its good to surprise your muscles now and then to get over plateaus. Well I'm running out of new ideas as each rotation goes on. I usually just change the type of exercises for each muscle group (i.e.
dumbell bench 4 weeks, then barbell bench 4 weeks), but I've been staying with the same muscle groups for about 3 months or so.
My muscle group rotation has been as follows:
Day 1: Legs, Calves, and lower back
Day 2: Chest, Triceps
Day 3: Back, Biceps, Forearms
Day 4: Shoulders, Traps, Abs
This time, I want to do a DRASTIC rearrangement of my routine, and I was thinking of combining muscle groups as follows:
Day 1: Chest, Shoulders
Day 2: Back, Traps
Day 3: Legs
Day 4: Biceps, Triceps, Abs
How does this look? My philosophy is like this: chest and
shoulder exercises are both "push" exercises. Back and trap exercises are both "pull" exercises. Make sense? Please critique and correct at will.
Thanks!
Luca
