Okay...I have a decent amount of muscle in my upper back but theres still some fat...but i have small love handles and i hate them and it makes my back look stupid. my question is...when i lose the weight will it change the look of the tattoo?

That would depend on where you get the tat. Gaining muscle or fat will cause the tat to strectch or curve over the new muscle distorting the shape somewhat but it really depends on where you getting it done at on your body. legs/forearms really don't change that much but something on your upper back would change as your skin wraps around the ner larger muscle.

do a search, theres a few threads on tats.
how do u know this shen, are you just assuming, because in a thread which i once posted, most of the ppl said the tattoo would only fade and not really distort, unless a REAL lot of mass is either lost or gained.
from what ive heard they mainly just fade a bit and dont distort. unless on a pregnate womans belly, that can distort, but thats a massive gain in size.
Well..I have two of them on my arms and in the past threee years I've weighed 220 to 117 back up to 145 and not alot distortion or changing on that part of my body from them but it makes sense that if your skin is streching over the surface of your body because it has to cover the new muscle area then its going to distort to some extent. Its the reason most don't just get a wrist tat..it distorts whenever the wrist gets moved from a straight hanging down position because of how you flex/move your wrist.

Yes they strech but not like a graphic on a balloon. They strech evenly.
What you will notice is the color seems to fade because of the strech but the image will stay intact. I have many tattoos. I had one before I got huge. That one looks like it got faded from the sun. BUT I took care of it. I spoke to many people about it including tatoo guys and they told me the same thing.
The color has to cover a larger area so it thins out. The image will allways look right as I said before unlike a balloon if you let half the air out it gets all funny looking. Your tattoo will look right just lighter. Nothing that recoloring wont fix.

Tattoos permanance lies on the second layer of skin, not the first. You would have to grow 5 times your size for this to distort beyond recognition. What CAN make it distort is the way your body moves and bends, not the stretching of the skin. There's a guy that got a Cobra snake on the middle of his back and when he would round off his back, it looked like the Cobra's head opened up, very cool.
You'll be fine, I got one on my right arm before I started working out. It actually "moved" a few mm towards my tricep.
