Tennis for cardio?

What do you think about playing tennis as a cardio exercise? Is it intense enough? How long should it be played per workout?

I love tennis for cardio. However, matches are not that intense in my opinion. Too much time resting while preparing to serve and so forth. Take two people with decent strokes and just rally back and forth and work the ball throughout the court and it can be a great workout.

Anything outdoors is usually a good form of cardio. Tennis, basketball, baseball, etc.
