too young for weight training and other Q's
I am 15 years old and i am 176cm or 5 foot 69inches high and weigh 14.5 stone (sorry my scales only to imperial) and as you can probabley tell i am looking to loose weight and hopfully tone up!
I have started to do a fitness programme of 50 press-ups a day, 50 bicep curls (at a weight of 6.8 kg or 15 punds am i to young to do weights?) a day and 50 sit ups (but i haven't done the sit ups due to the fact i hurt mine tail bone ) i do play rugby once a week and have a gym subscription but i find the gym quite boring. when it gets into spring time i will begin running.
My target is to loose a healthy amount of weight by the summer and to be able to go swimming etc with out feeling embarrrased. is this do-able? is there anything that will help me in this challenge?
My diet is quite healthy. my breakfast consists of toast ( 4 or 6 slices, am i correct in saying to cut down on the amount of slices?) i put marg and jam as my topping. My Lunch will consist of one sandwich and then i will wait till dinner (i wont bore you with what i have for dinner lol).
well thats my rant over, have i bored you with to many pointless facts on my lifestyle? if so sorry
Thanks
Ed
P.S soz if this in the wrong part of the forum

If you do biceps curls there shouldn'T be any problems, I have heard that benchpress exercises can prevent you from growing normally....since you're growth isN't complete yet, you might wanna choose carefully what to do with the heavier lifting (chest and shoulders)...Trains your legs and arms, i started at 15 and the results happenned so fast, the only mistake that i made was to stop working out and not being consistent with my training...you need to have discipline and if you do it regularly like you have planned, you will wake up in a couple of years a different man....Remember that results take time, eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and protein and you should be alright....do your routine for biceps (50 at 15 pounds) and you will have biceps the size of a grapefruit in about 6 months, trust me on that..GOOD LUCK ED

Unless you incur a serious injury, brought on by very poor form or just trying to move weight you're not ready for, WEIGHTLIFTING WILL NOT STUNT YOUR GROWTH. It is a myth and needs to be squashed.
Squat and deadlift to train your leg muscles.

Your diet doesnt sound very balanced at all, your breakfast is pretty bad, 5-6 slices of toast?! your better off with some protein to get your body out of the catabloic state it entered during sleep, and some slow released carbs, a better option for breakfast would be like a scoop of protein powder in water, a couple egg whites, a bowl of oatmel and maybe 2 slices of toast...think small steps Edward

I can't believe you left out dead lifts and power cleans. <---Also 2 excellent exercises for legs and for losing weight. ~Scott

Hey Ed, are you English? 'Cause protein powder doesn't grow on trees here like it does in America. I'm no dietician but I'd say you can't go far wrong with just a bowl of Cheerios in semi-skimmed milk with a glass of juice for breakfast.

Lean muscle burns more calories. Suggestion; Build more muscle via weight training.
Aerobics burns calories. Add in for some extra fat loss and good heart health.
Low-fat, unprocessed foods are a good source of energy. Essential to long term health.
Intake less than you expend in energy then you will lose fat.

I was once like you are now. And Its not easy I couldent meet girls and have fun. Dont bore yourself with pressups and situps at this point of time as they will not help until the muscle underneath is exposed by losing fat percentage. To do this you need to be balancing a healthy diet and remember that everything is good in modertaion except fresh fruit and vegetables. I know that you mayt not like them but this is the lowest fat food you can have. Eating three meals a day also isnt a help. Instead of eating a large meal eachtime eat 4-5 smaller meals consisting of fresh fruit and vegetables. As you go a long time between meals your body spurs itself into storing fat for energy which you dont need by eating more smaller meals your metabolism is kickstarted and you do not store fat. Lastly do lots of aerobic exercise when I say aerobic I mean aerobic. DO NOT GO HARD AND GET PUFFED fat needs oxygen to burn by getting puffed you are deprived of oxygen by walking and light jogging you burn twice as much fat as you do by going hard and getting puffed. Try walking taking deep breaths and then move up to jogging taking deep breaths. Jog slowly and youll see the results in a matter of day's.
If you need any help dont hesitate to email me I know what it is like!!
