Walking

Would you say that walking one hour everyday could replace cardio in the gym ? I have to walk one hour everyday, have no choice but to for professional reasons. So, given I don't want to lose weight, would you advice me to do the cardio in the gym (for heart plus other benefits, but not for fat loss) in addition ? (not really brisk, but sporty walk anyway)
My own opinion is that I should skip cardio in the gym, just lift weights, but AM I RIGHT ?
