Question

weighted crunches for abs to show more?


I've always been farily skinny (just posted pics in picture forum) and I started working out consistently about 6 months ago, including around 3 days a week working on abs. I did them for about 4 straight months and it got a little more defined but I still really couldn't see them that much, and thats while watching what I ate the whole time. I started doing weighted situps about a month ago and I can already tell a decent difference compared to doing non weighted ones. So basically to get that six pack showing is it alot more efficient to do weighted situps compared to non weighted ones?

There's a "school of thought" that muscle groups such as the calf and abdomen should be treated like any other muscle group in the body in reference to encouraging hypertrophy. I personally believe that weighted sit ups or whatever using lower reps (due to this increased load) will result in thicker, larger abdomenal muscles (not to mention stronger).

Yeah i'm starting to believe that too. The difference in just a little amount of time with the weighted ones is a big one.

If you haven't tried weighted cable crunches, do those. Also don't forget cardio and diet is what makes them show.
