They are all just estimates. Try this one and see how close your numbers are.

I don't like that one,, welch. I hope it's wrong. It said I was 18%. I was tested a couple weeks ago with calipers and with an electric meter and both came out about 14%. Since then I've lost a few pounds.

dang, that site says Im 18% and my ideal weight is 239lbs no way, thats either too much muscle or too much fat.

but I think he is asking about bathroom style scales or whatever that tell body fat... could be wrong but thats what I understood...

I don't find them to be very accurate indicators of bodyfat percentage. My Tanita can change 2-2.5% from morning to night. Having said that, I do think they work well for tracking progress as long as you measure yourself under the same conditions. Short of an autopsy, there isn't a perfect method.

there a load of ****. I'm about 14% bf and i have had reading of up to 19% There probly good if your a standard joe with no muscle but when you get muscle i think it registers it as fat. If i remember correctly threenorms (i think) was saying a while back that a reading of something like 40% was given. which obviously was completly BS

The main thing about body fat percentage ESTIMATES, which is what all methods are - is to be consistant and ensure that they are moving in the right direction. Whether you have a caliper that says 14%, a tape measure that says 18%, or a scale that says 21% today and you re-check next month WITH THE SAME METHOD and it gives a lower BF% and your LBM is the same or more - then you are doing good. If not, then you aren't. The method doesn't matter as long as you do it the same way, same time, same bowl content, same hydration level each time.

Longer than that buddy! Try a couple months or so to lose 1% BF.

BTW quit lookin' at the scale, it is a lousy indicator of FAT loss. Use your tape measure instead.
