workout for lower abs

Wondering what are the best exercises to achieve definition in the lower abdominals. only thing I know is vertical leg thrusts, but I'd like to be able to do more than just exercise for them. thanks.

okay, I guess definition wasn't the right word then.. I've not got much fat on my whole body, and it's not that fat is covering up my abs. My upper 6 are very defined, and although the muscles are there, lower abs are quite weak and not large enough to be visible.

So, I guess that the proper question I should have asked is what are some exercises to increase the stregnth of my lower abs?

The best workout for the lower abs is frog kicks this is where you hang frrom a pull up bar and bring your knees to your chest,Bruce lee did alot of these!Add a twist to the left and reight to hit lower abs and side muscles.

abs run fron the ribs , taper down and attach at the hips, there is no mid point attachment so you cant work the lower abs spereate from the upper.

Well, Monsta is correct in that the rectus abdominus runs from point Y to point Y, but don't forget there are many more muscles in the abdominal group that do contribute to the overall appearance/function of the abdominal region. Don't forget about the hip flexors- when developed they help give you that defined "V" shape down in front.... I hear the ladies really like that....

Reverse crunches
Twisting reverse crunches
Leg raises
Frog kick crunches
Roman chair exercises

There are a bunch more, check out Exrx.com (dot net?) and you'll find some more I haven't listed. Change your exercises regularly, and/or change the order in which you do them to keep the results coming.
