I usually eat about an hour after I drink my postworkout shake. But it's not a high carb meal. I wouldn't see the point in giving your body energy after you've worked out. I eat a high protein meal with some grapes for dextrose.
Now that I think about it, what time do you workout? I workout at night, so its not benefical to me to have a high carb meal, but if you worked out in the morning, it wouldn't be a bad idea.

DO you work out morning or evening? If in the morning, or afternoon i think it wont hurt ya, at night maybe it might if you are cutting. If bulking, don't worry about it.

for the majority of the time, i have my PWO shake around 3-330. the oatmeal PWO is about 415-445. im not really cutting or bulking. im definetly not trying to lose weight, so im not cutting. i have been skeptical of bulking because i dont want to gain the extra fat that comes with it. im eating about 250 cals more then i need rather then the suggested 500 for bulking.

That looks great to me. Your body doesn't care what time of day it is. Feed it post workout the carbs it needs so that you can grow.

After a workout, the body part that you worked is very low in glycogen. Roughly speaking, the glycogen in the muscle helps your body recover and your muscle grow (very, very basic discription). Thats the reason for the carbs. It has nothing to do with energy.

What else is there? lol Either you cutting, or bulking (strength training or bodybuilding).

Are you just lollygagging around in the gym or what?
