5'2/135/25/-how many cals to loose?

I just turned 25 and I have tried to loose weight and its not happening ( I'm sure some of you have seen my other posts). Everyone keeps telling me welcome to the club at 25 your met slows down and its going to be very hard for you. It keeps getting me mad!

I work in an office during the day where I am sedentry. However my workouts going forward are 6 days per week for about an hour 15 minutes each day ( slightly varies depending on activity)

I wasn't loosing on 1100 cals....how many cals do I need per day with this activity if I'm looking to loose 1-2 lbs per week?

Well,it depends on so many things as we've already discussed in recent threads over the last few weeks. (yeah, everybody wants to drop a few pounds).

Start with 1350-1400 and give that a few weeks. You should lose about a pound a week on that after your body adapts to actually having enough food to survive on.

The people telling you that are full of crap. Lots of people have lost fat after 25.

1100 cals seems a bit low. If you eat too few calories, your body will think there's a famine and will hold on to every bit of fat it can. I would go with what andy recommends.

Time for you to call BS on what "everyone" says. Look through the progress pics section. Look at pierini, who is over 50. Look at Cursor who is also over 50. Find some pics of Clarence Bass who is like 103 or something like that. It's all about what you put into your body and what you do with it. Sure it won't be as easy as you mature (and 25 is hardly ancient) but it can still be done.

I renewed my dedication to fitness when I was 34. Now I'm 38 and am in the best shape of my entire life. I did two "physically most improved" contests last year and out of 30 juice monkeys, I was the oldest, weakest, and the only one NOT using chemical assistance. I placed 5th in one and 7th in the other. Could have taken first in one of them had I gotten a clue about tanning. I will be doing my 2nd triathlon in May '08.

Now, what are YOU going to do?

To borrow a phrase from one of our Admins, pierini..."How bad do you want it?"

I wonder, though, is it really harder as we mature (ha ha, mature, I'm 26) or is it just that we become less and less active without realizing it? Is there a real metabolic change or just a lifestyle one? Discuss....
