are Olives and Olive oil have the same affects

I came across olives the other day and i was wondering...if u just eat olives does it have the same affect as olive oil?? I know olive oil is really good for you with the mono and poly unsaturated fats...but does the olives have the same properties?

Olives are great just like the oil. The only thing to watch out for is the sodium content. It's very high.

Except for the sodium content, like Brat mentioned, many would argue that olives are actually a better source of what you'd normally get in olive oil, because they are less processed. Makes sense to me, but I don't like olives, so I stick to the oil.
