bad food: In the morning or before workout??
Foods containing sugar like 1% yogurt or fruit trail mix.....or basically anything that has sugar or fat, when should one try to eat them:
1.In the morning??? i know some people dont like eating too much @ breakfast but i could have a steak if i had the time to make it.
2.Before a cardio workout?
3. Before lifting?

Some fats are good, those that are in nuts etc are good energy sources and good for your heart. It's always good to stay away from bad fats any time of the day. If you need to eat something that has sugar though, I would eat it before exercising. You should be able to burn it off. There are a ton of options now though that can reduce your sugar intake to almost zero. I use Dannon's Low Carb Yogurt for example. It uses Splenda, tastes great and only has 3g of sugar per serving. Your diet and when you eat will vary depending on workout times and activity levels. Just use the basic concept of eating for your activity level and you should be fine.

when it comes to Yogurt, you can always get fat free yogurt and add a scoop of whey or something
edit: I'm under the impression that it's best to ingest sugars after a workout

A basic rule of thumb is to just give yourself enough time after eating to burn it off. You can't really set a time on it. Some people work days, others work graveyard. It just depends on what YOUR day looks like. I generally go to bed between 9 and 11 pm. If I'm going to eat something like a donut, I would try to eat it earlier in the day when I have time to burn it off. For me personally, I try to plan eating things like that. If I know my wife wants me to go eat Mexican with her, I plan on a lunch date with her with my personal understanding that I will have a good session of cardio later in the day to burn it off. I ALWAYS compensate my eating with my workouts. I don't have any "major" physical fitness or weight loss goals that require me to eat clean for an extended period of time (although I do anyway), so if I want to cheat or just have something I normally wouldn't have, I just make sure I do a good hour of cardio to burn it off. I will usually run a hard five miles or a moderate seven or eight miles. But what cardio to do would depend on the person. Now that I've lost all the weight I'm going to, I know I can eat ANYTHING I want to. That doesn't mean I do, but I can. And like I said, I just make sure I have a good cardio session to burn it off.

d00000000d, you're trying to burn fat, no?
That means donuts are pretty much never *sensible*.
Which doesn't mean you can never have a donut. It just means you can't rationalize it into some sort of 'fitness friendly fructose source'.

Haven't we all thought for hours before about how we can rationally incorporate pizza, ice cream, cake, etc... into our diets !? I know I have. Just save it for a cheat day, or cheat meal, or (shudder) get used to not having it ! Cake for example is something I rarely eat now- at birthday parties I won't have cake- unless it's some special homemade cake that someone's really trying to impress you with- you know what I mean. But that almost never happens in busy busy busy American today.
