Beneficial Cereals
One thing I can't eat anymore is cereal that doesn't do anything for my body. Sugar cereals are out and this goes for many sugary products in general. If you agree, what kinds of quick breakfast meals/cereals are you eating?

well really all cereal is the devil haha. But I eat honey bunches of oats, which still aint that great. but like cheerios, corn flakes, total, bran flakes, wheaties, stuff like that.
best thing you could prolly eat is a few whole eggs, and cup or two of oatmeal. or maybe cottage cheese and a bagel? or something.
just my guess

i also had to give up my delicious fruity pebbles, fruit loops, lucky charms- oh it hurts to name these , cereal, how I miss you!
anyways - I make a breakfast scramble with tofu (you can use eggs) with veggies like yellow peppers, mushrooms and broccoli. I think it's pretty filling if I use enough stuff to fill a large bowl as I like to eat and feel full after
all depends on what u like.... if you cant stand eating something and you try to force yourself truth is it's not going to last long and you will go back...obviously

I have been cooking up a batch of a mix of brown rice, wild rice and black japanconda rice. Put it in the fridge for eating throughout the week. Lately, a some of this with a bit of milk and cinnamon. Nuke until warm. ummmm. . . . delicious.

My breakfast is either eggs or hot cereal. Here is how I make my hot cereal.
Once a week I cook up a batch of oat groats in the crock pot and put them in the fridge. Each morning I spoon out some oats into a bowl and add a handful of blueberries and a handful of sour cherries and microwave it for 2 minutes.
While it is cooking, I add a cup of homemade yogurt and a scoop of vanilla protein powder and mix it up. Then I add to the hot cereal some cinnamon and ginger and a handful of walnuts. Mmmm Mmmm Good.

Those ideas are really cool, especially the cooked ones. As far as the cereal goes, I'm glad to hear that none of you eat sugary cereals. Just food for thought, LiveActive makes great cereals with real fruit and cottage cheese for you Westside. What do you guys know about prebiotics?

I love Kashi. They are pretty high in protein, fiber and the omegas for a cereal. And some of them are pretty tasty too. I swear one of them tastes like that Kellogg's Smacks cereal I used to eat as a kid.

don't forget boys, kashi is full of soy which will help increase your estrogen levels!!
my hubby calls the soy sausage patties he used to love "boobie patties" and refuses to eat them now
One of my favorite 'treats' that I haven't had in a while is a big bowl of cereal, I prefer the 'healthier' ones like cheerios, puffins etc. with low sugar, and like to add nuts and dried fruit. Mmmm.
Also i find bear naked granola to be absolutely delicious, therefore I wouldn't even consider having a package at home
I don't eat any boxed cereal on a regular basis, though I do eat oatmeal or oatbran.

Prebiotics are really cool. Certain things you eat contain probiotics that add to the good bacteria in your body, while prebiotics feed that bacteria leading to a healthy digestive system. You guys should really check it out. There is a lot of really cool information about it on www.LiveActiveFoods.com if you're curious.

I'm weird - ive never really like sugary cereals (Frosties etc)
I'm happy with things like shredded wheat / bran flakes / porridge.
I've tried making my own museli as well - that was surprisingly nice (wheat flakes + rolled oaks + mixed dried fruit and a few nuts). Yummy

LiveActive cereal is right up your alley, Caracal. It has a lot of the things you mentioned, like dried fruits and nuts. Check it out.
