what is the best post workout meal/food?

im talkin about totally au naturale. no whey no pills just clean food?

steak? fish? rice? milk?

From what i have learned it is...quick acting protein with sugars. I'd take a chocolate milk right after with a steak if u want. THe chocolate milk will get into your system right away with protein. Your next meal should be steak, fish, turkey, and brown rice or wheat bread.

Yes, Maxgain pretty much summed it up pretty well with the above statement. Whey protein will get absorbed by your system the fastest out of any protein, and provide your muscles with the amino acids they need in order to immediately replenish, and begin the recovery (and growth) process.

The simple sugars (dextrose and/or maltodextrin), will replenish your depleted carb (energy) stores and allow for greater uptake of other nutrients into the muscle cells. This is the optimal meal for immediate post-workout.

Also, don't forget to drink plenty of water with your post-workout meal(s).
