Bread question


I need an explanation on a type of bread, because it has been one of the questions that have been eating at me for the longest time. I don't understand why more people don't eat 100% whole wheat Healthy Life bread. From what I can tell, it is the lowest calorie value bread, it claims to be 100% whole wheat not sure how accurate that is, but it also seems to be high in dietary fiber. The only explanation I have been capable of deriving to this question is that maybe it isn't offered in your areas? or maybe highly processed? I am sorry those of you that might know me, I am "newbie" and need directions. lol. thanks guys it's good to be back.

P.S. If it has something to do with being processed, and if you don't mind could you explain to me possibly what the effects or more or less why it isn't the best choice. Sorry if this has some sort of thread already on here, I just couldn't find it.

well i dont think its about processing? i think its more like theres plenty of other heart healthy breads out there, nd in my opinion are better than just whole wheat. like 100% whole grain! which is high in protiens carbs and i think higher in calsories making it a bulkers best friend? flax seed breads, which are loaded with EFA's. whole wheat is good too. but in my opinion whole grain is better... not sure what the difference really is other than one is made from wheat and another is from grains - what grains I dont know? i thought it was also wheat, but maybe not.

I eat 'the Baker' Low carb bread. It has the same number of protein grams as carb grams, no added sugar or weird ingredients! I think 100% whole wheat is fine of course, I just prefer this kind myself, for nutrition and for taste.

I have not heard of the bread you use, but I will check it out at the store! What are the nutrient values for your Healthy life bread? how many calories per ounce? I have not yet found a better breakdown than the one i use : per ounce 50calories 5g protein 5g net carbs (2g fiber) and 1g of fat. Oh and 90mg of sodium.

Whole wheat does not mean it is the whole grain. Whole grains are ALWAYS better than some processed flour.

so im confused now why everyone talks about whole wheat more than whole grain... is it jus cause whole wheat is cheaper..... thats why i go with whole wheat sometimes.

I don't even eat bread! I am a fan of steel cut oats. They are a god send... if you are okay with oatmeal.

I love oatmeal... but steel cut oats? how else would they cut oats? with sharpened bamboo shoots?

There are different variations of oatmeal. Just plain oatmeal... rolled oats.... and steel cut oats come to mind. Whats the difference? Steel cut oats are unrolled and cut into two or three peices. They are also chewier.

As a result, you are getting different nutritional values. (A very small difference). all in all I just like steel cut oats.
