Ok, so I want to have a drink today (something I don't normally do). I want to make a smoothie with bacardi light so I looked up the nutritional information on it. Happy to see it has no carbs but why does the chart call calories kcal? and what in the world is that underneath the calories that says energy (Kj). What does kj stand for? Are these more calories? I want to stay within my diet limits and cannot go over how many calories I need today. Can someone please clear this up for me? Does a 1 oz serving of this stuff contain 69 calories or is it more?! kilocalories (kcal) are calories. everything you see labeled as calories are actually kilocalories. ethanol is a macronutrient, so there are 69 calories (kilocalories) per bottle. but ethanol is used differently in our body, i dont know the details atm

Alcohol is really deceptive- although a lot of it is low carb, alcohol itself is essentially a fast-processing, high calorie carbohydrate. At 7 calories per gram, it's a pretty big price to pay. Like everything else, moderation, so 1 drink isn't going to kill you.
kcal= Calorie like we know it from food, like fitricise said. So your drink has about 70 calories.
