Carb Cycling

This is something I found on another forum on carb cycling. Basically its a high carb, low carb and no carb cycle. Protein is kept the same everyday and is kept fairly high. I am going to be trying this when I return from Jamaica and once I get things in order I will be posting it in a journal.

Here is the link:

Carb Cycling for Cutting pt 1

My question is how should I set up my training to corresponde with the different days? Cursor, you may be able to shed some light on this. This is what I was thinking:

Day 1: Chest/Triceps: High Carb
Day 2: Back/Bicep: Low carb
Day 3: Cardio: No carb
Day 4: Legs: High Carb
Day 5: Shoulders/Traps: Low carb
Day 6: Cardio: No carb

If anyone could shed some insight on this thatd be great.

Hey Grif, I wish I could help you out here but I have no practical application or experience with carb cycling... the theory is interesting however. If you try something out i'll be interested in seeing the before and after results lean muscle gains, or how it affects your lifts... good luck with it.

haha, thanks kungfu, ya I'm not so sure anyone has much practical application, but I'm hoping that someone who has some knowledge of the principals of exercise/nutrition will be able to help me. I know there has to be someone out there, unfortunetly this is one of the continuing problems with discussfitness, not enough experienced bodybuilders/experts.

I'll definitely be keeping you posted, I'm already excited to start it up.

that's cool, I read that article about a week ago, along with the one that ironman had posted about calorie cycling, i'm debating on which one to go ahead with next... so I'm also interested to see what some of the 'veterans' have to say about it...

i suspect ol griff just wants a reason to sit there one day a week in his semen soiled sweatpants and spahgetti stained wifebeater eating Fruit Loops by the box full while watching cartoons with a massive insulin induced hard-on...enjoying the smell of his own gas, actually wafting it upwards to his nose..but i could be wrong.

Did you read up on part 2 of the article. It gives you a pretty good breakdown of how it would fit in an average persons weekly schedule. If you can't find it I can put up a link for it, just say the words.

A couple of suggestions. You may want to do your leg workouts a day after your high carb workout for improved performance. Also, cardio the day after the high carb day may help you get back into fat burning mode.

Not bad thinking, I also thought of that, but do you think that its smart to load up on carbs while cutting without having some intense activity that day? I wouldnt want to have a high carb day and just sit around and rest.

It does in some aspects, but I wasnt looking for info on the lifestyle cycle, I wanted to know what would be smart in terms of matching up carb days and muscle groups/cardio.
