carbs/ bio.....hope not boring

So I hope not to start my 1st post with any hatred or controversy as to carbs and my diet.
Back in the day when I was a full time bodybuilder my diet consisted of linguiny for breakfast a cup of java and an apple before my workout at 6am.
On my way to work at 8am I would stop at Mc D's for a order of pancakes and another coffee.
Break at 10 am a tuna sandwich lettuce, tomato no mayo on a hardroll and a protein liquid, lunch a boiled potatoe with butter and a glass of of OJ.
H2O in between and at dinner rice and a piece of broilled chicken.
Then I could bench 235 lbs 2X weighing at 170 lbs mostly ripped.
Side effect: I was miserable at holydays and weekends since most my family would eat at will but me, I would pick and choose what to eat.
It's been a while since those days and now with the "bug" back I have decided to get back into a routine of weight lifting both home and at work, but have decided to not go on any particular diet, just see what happens with just eating a normal meal as I have been for a while:
5am :Bfast 2 cups of java
H2O any time
10 am meat(1pc of meat)- rice- potatos salad
H2O any time
5PM meat (1 pc of meat)rice potato salad, Oduls
H2O anytime B for bed
And in one week I dropped 3 lbs from 232 to 229, now I'm not actually fat ( but overweight as per the DR's charts for weight vs height) as some would think but my DR. when doing my check up would say...you play foorball?..and I would respond not at 5'10"..lol
Anyway I would want some feed back to my decision to getting back on some type of routine and for those "hardcore" tell me if you feel my pain and or if your think dieting is crazy and short term.
Gracias, arigato

"Back in the day" -- did you eat any protein with all of those carbs? Seems to be a mass quantity of carbs with no protein - not a normal bodybuilding diet by any stretch of the imagination.

In regards to your current diet, have you figured out your protein/carb/fat ratios as well as overall caloric intake?

Back then I used to drink this powder mix called MEM, milk egg and meat, and my goal then was not to gain mass but to develop my upper body, have ripped abs and lean legs, believe me I wish I would have taken pictures since the gym owner wanted me to represent his gym in the "all" natural contests, but I was shy and also didn't like the idea he sold steroids on the side.
Now at 47 I'm married to this woman who can cook and to answer our question I have not done the carb/ protein / fat ratio intake, I will now just eat moderately and like allways avoid junk food, but I will not let a diet spoil my life as it did then (allways watching what you ate).
I figured that for my age being a blue collar worker I get to do manual work, and now that I have a semi gym in my basement (weights, thread mill, ab machine, stationary bike and a pilates rower) I will stay with a routine that will allow me to life my life as I had been but now doing the hour a day work out.

In your other thread I thought you said you were a noob! You don't sound like one at all. It's funny how the bug hits a second time round in early mid-life but with different parameters ( not spoiling life for a 6 pack for example).

Looking forward to another mature perspective on the subject of fitness.

Funny how after a few workouts I see my arms take shape and the pump is just out of this world, the thing is I'm doing many reps as before stuck to the 10-8-6, now I'm 15-13-10 with less weight, now after the pain goes away I'll start a diary or" journal" as you guys have it and hope to see some more changes especially on my "ABOMINALS"... , but until then I'm just trying to read threads here in this PHENOMENAL site and hope to learn difrerent techniques that have worked for some and also hope not to get injured on the way....as my back has given me a few aches that my
acupuncturist was able to "fix"..........
