Cardio workout & shake timing?

First of all, can I take the same pre-cardio & post-cardio shake as I take for my lifting routine? Right now before lifting I am eating 1 cup oatmeal 1.5 sc. whey. After lifting I am drinking a shake consisting of 1 orange 1.5 bananas 2 sc. whey and 1 no fat yogurt with 12oz water.

Second, on my lifting days I am drinking half my post workout shake within 20 minutes after my session and drinking the rest slowly over the next 1 hour. The question I have is, if at 5:45 I eat my pre-CARDIO meal and do my cardio from 6:35-6:55(HIIT) my stomach still feels full from my pre-cardio meal. So today I finished my HIIT at 6:55 like mentioned above and then I just slowly drank my post-cardio shake from 7:05-8:05. Is this OK? If not what adjustments would you make. Thanks

Well, I personally wouldn't take the same pre cardio and post cardio shake as I take for my lifting. With cardio, I think it's best to do on an empty stomach, however only take whey protein before your cardio, no carbs. And after cardio, you can take some whey protein if you'd like, and eat an hour after completion of cardio. As for drinking half of your protein shake 20 minutes after you lift, yes I've heard good things about doing that. I just could never do that, I just consume my protein and carbs quickly. lol

Aye - I have also responded well to Empty stomach cardio. Then about an hour after completion, I always ate a complex carb meal.

If I eat lunch at 12:00 (salad) then I do my cardio at 2:00 for 20 minutes which means I finish at 2:20, then I wait an hour to eat, thats 3:20 between meals, is that OK? I do have a crap load of body fat to lose so I think the empty stomach might be a good way to go. Any thoughts?

headhawg7, so your cardio before your salad at 12. I just sent you a pm back, and it tells you what to take before and after your cardio.

Are complex carbs better to have after cardio or simple carbs like ones from bananas and etc.?

After cardio it would be best to have whey protein, and then an hour later, eat a meal with complex carbs.
