The use of valium etc does not cure but relieves anxiety etc assoc with depression ie symtomatic it does not help in its pathology and as i stated above ritalin is a stimulant as is caffeine.

Maybe they don't work the same way. Alcohol relieves anxiety too. My point was that caffeine and alcohol are both legal non-prescription alternative to precription meds for symptoms we usually think are out of our control.
