Chicken temperature

Hi there, I remember someone telling me once that it was dangerous to put hot chicken into a fridge straight after, something about the quick change in temperature attracts bacteria.

Since then I've always let it cool before putting it in the fridge, but am I being paranoid?

I've never heard that either.

Hell, if anything letting it sit out sounds riskier (though neither seem particularly death defying).

I know I'm just always careful with chicken since you can't eat it rarer like with steak etc. Looks like whoever told me that was misinformed. I feel silly now lol
